Seems like it was easier when you had no idea what the hell you were doing. At least for me anyways. It's like, dumb luck dwarfs experience or something...

    Exactly brother !

My first cat build was a twin MM. I called FDM and told Chris I wanted to build a MM that will blow itself out of the water if I punch it ! so he sent me the stuff and I built it and never had any trouble with esc's . I just need a boat that's over kill so I can run it with no worries. Every time I build a semi large single cat it goes backwards too fast no matter $500 esc or $130. Much respect to the guys who are getting it with the singles . I can build them just not get what I want out of them unless they are stupefied with motors.

This kind off a cool vid. Probably the last time I will have it running . Going to clean it up and sell I think.

Ok I am having a change of mind already lol FDM has a monster 400 amp esc for $400 . I might go that route . I knew my V3 was too small and tried way to hard to make it work ! Ha Ha ! I know I have a good boat why not make it right then see if it's all that right ?

Doesn't look like it made that much of a mess, or you cleaned it up well

It is cool, the boat looked great under the wide angle (fisheye) lenses. The sound of the pump is cool, no other boats can make mechanical sounds while not moving save for multi channel scale boats.....
Sorry to learn what happened, I am sure you will get it sorted out, I just don't think this ESC is meant for this boat lol....
I hope you will give it another try...... ( not telling you what to do, but I don't think the boat has seen her potential yet)

I am gutting it now to get it ready for a MGM esc . Shorter wires and cleaner thermal harness panned.

Exactly what MGM are you putting in it?

I told him a 25035 x2 lite like what I have in my mono should do it as long as his wires are shorter. It's much more robust than a t180. The next step up would be almost twice as much and isn't many more amps than this one at 250 amps. What's your thoughts? You've had a few mgms.....

I will put whatever esc that fits the ticket ! I know the worst thing I can do is give it full throttle from a start now and I did manage to make the V3 work some but now know it's a dud for my setup. I just need something that will actually handle more continuous current and big voltage spikes. This boat is 18+ lbs so getting it out of the hole takes some amps once up to speeds then I'm sure things get normal for this size of boat. I'm running 6s and 1800kv and smaller props . Nothing to extreme but it is a performance sport boat. From what I have seen and been told the MGM esc is a top notch unit and seems to take lots of punishment in KXF's boats. I will probably go with what he says. ha ha

It's defiantly got a stank coating in it.

The 25035 X2 Lite should work fine plus some...

Let see what flraptor says. I trust his judgement too. He's had lots of boats and some mgm escs. His boat collection is pretty substantial lol.
