    Rico mono build

So, I've had my Rico mono hull for about six years now. It has been my favorite boat that I have had to date. I had bought it from a guy named Mike Martin in the swap shop. It had some pretty severe hull damage from a race crash. I patched it up and went from there. It has had numerous different set ups over the years and has been an absolute blast to drive. I have been wanting to build one up for a while now with a new hull. I ordered up a red one from Richie with a full carbon fiber inlay. I got it this morning and have been building away ever since. Maching it up to run either 4, 5, or 6s. Initial setup will be a CC/ Neu 1512, 2650 kv with V3 Seaking 180 and a M442. That is the last set up I ran in the old hull and it was very quick and nimble. My favorite setup has been with a T-600 outrunner with 6s1p and a X548.

Here is where I'm at currently..

Looking good man this one's going to be the master build Rico from what you learned with the old one

Thanks. She's just about done. Epoxy is curing and I just have to plumb the cooling. Might run this sucker tomorrow!

Yes they are ! Very talented guy who makes those , built one for Riptide1 a few years ago. I already had the t29 sitting on my shelf so I went that route. When I do the next mono it will be a 31" Rico. I figure I will try to get the T29 to handle like a Rico in the meantime lol...

Just because I love some good transom shots.

I kept this build very simple and straight forward. Motor as far to the rear as possible. Stuffing tube about 1" long. Glasses in the batt tray and use Align straps with 2 small squares of Velcro to secure batts. Large cutout in the tray to save weight. Motor mount just glued with zpoxy and micro balloons mixed in, then dyed black. Esc will be held down by Velcro only. Short cooling lines. Should rip pretty well!
Just need to grab a bit if Velcro and she's done! Maiden tomorrow.

Fwiw.. The aluminum servo mount I bought from OSE was a toilet. Tap busted off in one of the holes. Tried to use it anyway, stripped out another thread.. Cheap aluminum. Crappy QC. Oh well. Made my own from wood. Easy enough.
