help newbies with setups

I'm hoping this thread may help new comers with their boat setup,
I see members asking what motor. esc . batteries . an props to runin their boats, so here's what I'm asking for , please list,
1 type of boat.
2 type of racing, heat laps , saw, oval.
3 motor ,esc ,batteries = cell count , mahs of pack.
4 what prop,

1 ML gp310 hydro,
2 oval racing
3 AC 2030KV motor , AC 60 amp esc, 2x 2s 5000mah batts,
4 prop 442 , working on cupping

1 JAE 21 rigger,
2 oval racing,
3 Dr MadThrust 3674-1600KV motor, seaking 120amp esc, 5s 5000 mah batts.
4 prop ABC 1914 B/S, nice but you should run a bigger esc, like a 200amp.

SF240 esc set to "middle" timing (had no PC), SF200 worked o.k. for 2 heats and then melted a connector off, it was used with factory defaults, maybe why it got so hot??

Went from D/Tongued 452 down to M447

All hardware found used is from a stock dragon hobby sword donarboat since I hace dificulties getting propper RC hardware locally, but now that i found this place (offsore electrics) I hope to get things in order.

It runns fine once it gets going, but it struggles to get up out of the water, I plan to post build and "race" pictures in the forums in the future.
