    Miss Elam conversion

I've finally completed converting my Miss Elam to FE. I have one last thing to figure out....what batteries should I run? The motor is a 1500kv stock fe elam and the esc is a 60 amp pro boat. I'm thinking about running two packs of 2s, or should I run something different. I'm not looking for blazing speed out of this thing, just want to run in my pond.

    Thanks in advance,
    John

2 2s at least 5000 mah and at least 35C would be great

          Hey guys,

I'm having a little problem, I converted my Miss Elam from nitro to FE, and have no idea how I'm going to fit batteries in. Do any of you guys that have done this conversion have pictures how you fit the batteries. I'm wanting to run two (2) 2s batteries, but if I can fit just one 4s battery I will.

Here is a good thread to take some insight from. I joined in with my build on the thread as well. Heaving and I basically did the same layout. Put your lipos in the cockpit, and add weight inside the sponson tips as needed. I ended up with no extra weight in mine, because of the heavy cloth inlay I did. Lol

Hey Slo, I see you moved your motor back a bit. I left mine in the same place the nitro motor was. I guess this is why I'm having a problem fitting batteries. I would like the batteries to fit flush on the floor of the boat, but it looks like I'm going to have to fit them in a V around the motor.

Thanks for the link. I've looked at the pictures ALOT....lol

This is the area I have to work with. Do you guys think one 4s pack will fit up in the nose or do I run 2 2s packs along side the motor in a V

I would run two 2s packs standing up on edge and tucked up into the nose and diagonally on either side of the motor . Looks like you could make a v with the packs around your motor. Maybe

Thanks for the reply!!! I think its the only way I'm going to be able to fit the batteries. Guess I'll order some 2s lipos and see what happens.

Update: finished my conversion. Not a high dollar hydro, but it works for me.

John, I use to have one of these nitro to fe converted Ms. Elam. Nice running hydro. You did a good job tucking all that in there and sealing it up, I know how tight it is. One thing, if you do a build above 4S dont use those deans connectors bud. I dont do the lipo bullet to esc bullet either, just a personal preference. I use a 8mm incased connector OSE sells...looks good, have fun with it... DJ
