Another Predator Outrigger

A good friend handed me a complete laser cut Predator, said when he bought the wood he had enough to do 2 and gave me one!! Awesome so I went to home depot and got a couple perfectly straight pieces of poplar and screwed them to my building board and now I have a tub jig fit for this tub, just enough space for wax paper and the tub so it should be good and true which I'm told is very important for proper setup and haul arse ya know...

I may as well be doing something while I'm waiting on the rudder for my 30" cat build!!!

A LIL Update

I got the tub done and that jig paid off and its straight enough that I can't see any daylight under any of it when its sitting flat but I'll make a three point jig when I glue it up with the sponsons...

I got a 2' square sheet of that pink foam from home depot and cut two strips enough to glue to inside of inner sponsons and sanded to profile and then I used a drill press and drilled out the sponsons for the carbon fiber boom tubes (arrow shaft) ... So far it looks nice and straight and true!!!

I got both main sponsons done and the turnfin and bracket done...

I've been thinking about getting a Rigger to play with, but I'm one of those idiots that goes WFO right off the bat. Randy @ BBY racing is doing a twin Rigger and I've got a pair of Turnigy 3665 2350kv that would be killer in it on 4s

Update

Well I finally got a chance to get some work done on this rigger... And I decided that I will use a 36mm motor and it wont clear the original wood hatch covers so I built a canopy that has the clearance I need for the motor and it looks good. I used a SIG plastic rc airplane canopy cut down to fit the rigger.

I also pre hung all hardware and disassembled for finishing

A little rub down with denatured alcohol and I bought a can of TOP FLITE LustreKote High Gloss Clear at the LHS, they said this is top shelf stuff and its fuel proof
