I have a Prather 40" deep vee that i've stripped down. It had a nitro 7.5cc outboad that was tempermental, so it wasn't getting used anymore. I want to do a fun sport build to have something I can have fun with in the local lakes and in the coastal rivers (East Central Florida). I'm looking for advice and guidance as this is my first big electric boat build, as I come from a world of nitro and gas, but I haven't buily any boats in quite a while.
Here's what I've been planning for hardware:
- Speedmaster Strut, .187 Round Bottom Style Mono (spds-007-187MR)
- Speedmaster Mono rudder bracket with 2.125" of setback
- 3/16 flex/drive shaft with teflon liner and 9/32 brass stuffing tube
- 2"x2" trim tabs
- 90mm turn fins
- no prop choice yet
Electronics:
- KB45-10XL 1200kv or Leo 4082-1200
- Turnigy Marine 180 or Seaking 180
- Haven't looked into rudder servos yet
- 6S 40C 5000 or 3S2P 30C 3000 (I use 6S 3000 packs in my trex 500)
Any advice or guidance on this would be very helpful. Keep in mind that i don't want to break speed records and I want this to be a fun sport boat. I know the bigger boats demand a larger budget, but I don't mind using some of the cheaper components on a sport boat build to keep the overall costs down.
Thanks,
James
