    Tim. You are too kind.
But I remember those days too. Can't be bothered with them any more.
We'll see how she runs first. If it is successful I might scale it up to 33" & run it in our EA 4s Sports Hydro class next year.
The underside of the main tub really intrigues me, with the concave shape of the floor pan & then the convex shape of the sump in the middle.
See the photo in the first post.

The epoxy paint is just the
'Wattyl' Killrust Epoxy Gloss Enamel. It's available at most hardware stores & Auto parts shops.
But there are other brands that make that type of paint too. I don't even bother to clear coat or even buff it.

And yes. I just use the rattle cans. But it's available in tins as well.

      Thanks Paul.
Funny thing is I saw that paint when I bought the "other" stuff from supercheap; should have just gone with it!!!!

Now that tells me you are in Australia. Are you in Brisbane by any chance?

Yes for Aus, No for Brisbane unfortunately!!!
I'm in Bendigo. Nice town, but not enough RC Boaters (although, I've been drumming up some interest lately)!!!!!

Looks like it's up to you to start a Club.

Well she turned the prop in anger for the first time today.
After the first couple of runs & some strut & fin adjustments, ol' mate Trev was kind enough to film the next run.
Still a bit of fine tuning to do but I'm well pleased with the results so far.
Even managed to keep it at full noise after the first few laps.
So here it is at the Boondall Bull Ring testing the water on its third run.

We will see how things go, but I would certainly like to have a good group of boaters to get some racing happening!!!

That Blaster is going well Paul; a credit to your building/set-up skills. Did I hear on the video that you will be racing it next week???
Keep us informed of it's progress.

                Pitts.
That was Ray suggesting I run it in our restricted Sports hydo class next week. (1500kv Proboat motor & 45A ESC)
But since it's the last race day for the season, I'll keep running my ML Boatworks GP 310.
I do intend to run the restricted setup in it at some stage, to see how she flies though.

Good idea, better to use the boat you know best especially if it's for club class points.
Are you able to email me your club, class rules? If I get something started here, It makes sense to have unified classes, so we can visit other clubs/groups. I have checked the Ampba rule book, but they are pretty vague on any electric classes. The New Zealand rule book is much better so I guess they embrace the electric classes much more than Aus at the moment.

We are basically governed by the AMPBA rules, regarding classes, battery voltages & weights of packs.
The restricted classes are our own club classes using the Proboat or Aquacraft 1500kv Motor's with the their 45A ESC's.
They were originally set up as "beginners" classes to encourage new members, but have grown into probably the most competitive classes. The racing is so close & great fun.
We do restricted classes in Hydro (rigger), Sports Hydro, & Mono.
But your club may choose a different Motor & ESC if you do decide on a restricted class

Here's the Restricted GP 310 with the 1500kv motor & 45A ESC on an early test run. Just to show you how they run.

                      Hey Paul,
Did you test this with restricted setup? I'm keen on getting one.
