    More updates

This cat is really starting to feel solid, I think this cat may see some SAW action before I start heat racing it... I'm gonna work on the steps today and the bottom will be done and then I'll tack glue the whole boat to my jig board so its straight and the top skin goes on and the boat stays straight... It's been straight all along!

Great job, high tech!! Love the way it's coming out. I dig the pics of the Dumas factory, I'll have to head down there sometime and check it out.

I think once the Hatch is done and the boat is painted Hull and Hatch will be a lil bit over my 2 pound goal but not by much...
The only thing I could do to reduce weight would be a balsa hatch and that aint gonna happen! I intentionally added strength to this hull just so I could find out how fast it can go and maybe not come completely apart... I just weighed again after adding the last skin on and the little piece on the back of the hatch opening 860 grams still 28 grams shy the 2 pound mark

WOW Your cat is beautiful! How much did your bare hull weigh, did you use balsa or birch? With my canopy done I'm over 2 pounds, IDK how much cuz my scale only goes to 2 pounds.

My bare hull wieghed in at 1 lb. 14 oz. I used 1/8 plywood for frames and
used 1/16" balsa sheeting and all surfaces covered with thinned epoxy.
That is why my hull is a little lighter. I ran my cat in Limited spec offshore
and it won 13 straight races before it became a shelf queen. I never had
any problems at all and it was GPS measured at 48.9 MPH. Your wieght
wont be any problem with the torque of the UL-1 motor. I will be watching
your build. By the way, I used an SV-27 canopy which I got from Tower Hobbies. Keep up the excellent work. Regards

PS, Here is the canopy I used. I just cut around the outline of the canopy and removed the flat part. I then epoxied to the hatch cover. Just an Idea.SV27 canopy.jpg

Hi Norman, Im working on the strakes and I thought about adding ride pads too... So I got some wood and profiled it with a belt sander and an adjustable jig/fence. I like your canopy Idea looks like it's supposed to be there. I took pics of the strakes and ride pads, feedback would be good :)

Hi, High-Tec, Strakes are fine but I would suggest you do not use ride pads as they will interfere with water flow
around ride pads. With strakes the boat will handle like perfect.
                              Regards,

PS, Strakes must be placed in the center of the pontoons,
