I like the fact you picked yellow...
I like the windshield and the little three air scoops (?).
The flames are too busy for my taste, the Team
Liquid Dash is lost in the checkered flamed flag...
I get what the idea is behind it but again, too busy.
I like the homage to NEU motors at the tail.
That is a gorgeous hull though....
congrats... now show us some clips!

WOW, actually I painted the hull and the windshield, the vinyl was done by E-Man.

I think the biggest thing wrong with that boat is that your GF wouldn't pose with it again!

From now on the rule of thumb with your boats is that she MUST approve of the paintjob!!

Don't you worry she WILL pose with the new hull or she will be looking for a new home

I like the checkered flag & flame theme but the scale is a bit large for the boat.

Exquisite build Ray! You seem to like Hydros! I like the aluminum drive line housing instead of reinforced epoxy. Is that custom work? Thanks for the inspiration, since I haven't seen any good threads lately on the forums. How does this compare to the Whiplash 21 Hydro?

That is actually a stuffing tube block that is very popular with the gas boats. Andy at CDMI is making them for our size boats and the nitro boats now that are more streamline. I have been using them in my Hydro's for years and they make the stuffing tube job pretty clean.

I haven't had a chance to run the Sport 40 yet, I made a small error in judgement and didn't order my controller from Offshore. I usually get all my parts in two days but I tried to save a little coin and ordered from another site which sat on it for three days before they finally decided to ship. Thats what I get for not giving Steve the business.

Thanks for the words guys, and yes I love Hydro's :)

Well I finally got the SuperSport 45 in the water tonight for the first time. I was nervous at first but everything went much better than I expected for the first test run. The boat ran OK considering I think the prop I was using was nowhere near the right prop for the hull. I wanted to run a small prop but enough to get the hull up on plane. I ran the strut high and the first run the boat barely got on plane with the prop shooting a rooster like a mono hull. On the second run I lowered the strut quite a bit and the hull planed very quickly and ran nice. The rooster was still a bit higher than I usually see on a Hydro though. I plan on a lot more testing Sunday morning with some bigger props. Here are a few pics from the maiden run.
