You need to watch out if it's an epoxy fiberglass hull. You can't use bonds on them. Most glazing putties are Ok. The fillers/fairing compound can be hard to find other than online. If it's vinylester or polyester based then your good to go!
Stuck need a little help on hull bottom

It sounds like you already have the West Systems epoxy... Just get the appropriate filler. the 410 Fairing Filler should do the trick...

Guess I missed that:) I just found out how difficult it is to find a compatible filler or glazing putty locally. A trip to a half a dozen stores and a boat builders shop and I came home empty handed. There are plenty of option online though that will work. West systems is nice but quite expensive for what your really getting. It may be fine for our little boats but you would go broke using there stuff on a real boat repair/restoration!!Comment

Today I found Evercoat with Poly $39.00 a qt. works like a champ sets too up fast start by using just a little less hardener. I used correct mix first time and it set up in 2 mins container says 5-6 working time. Did better with second batch 3-4 mins. Mix it quickly. Pictures tomorrow.
I found great info on Everglass products http://www.autobody101.com/forums/vi...php?f=5&t=2941Last edited by Mike Caruso; 02-19-2014, 11:34 AM. Reason: http://www.autobody101.com/forums/viewtopic.php?f=5&t=2941Do It Like You Mean It .....or Don't BotherComment

Evercoat Metal Glaze very good product
First try darker blue set up to fast...Update Everglass called me back and Donna told me to use a RIBBON of hardener not a solid as you would squeeze out of your tooth paste tube. So I used way too much!!!

Sanded just to see

Second batch mixed less hardener better like 1/8 diameter which I thought was small. Not small enough.
JET BOAT SECOND TRY BOTTOM COAT.jpg
Sanded easy no problem this stuff sands so easy it is fun to work with.
