I was hoping to also go with 2-3S packs but Mike L. advised me to go with 2-6S packs because it would need the weight...

Not sure what is suggested but I think Mike had pics of a couplof 6S 5000 packs sitting in the front of the tub...supposedly there is plenty of room for all kinds of pack configurations. I will be using Hyperion 5000 35C packs...

Yes there is plenty of room, its cavernous. Very easy to get my gnarled mits in it....One of the things I was planning on doing to save adding any "dead weight" in a sponson that Ive read about other people having to do too their "Hydros" , is make my battery tray mount adjustable for side to side movement, to control sponson lift.

Got my ESC on its way from Mike L. .... soon as I have rest of the components, the build will go quicker.....DJ

            Olwarbirds.

I don't get any left sponson lift in mine & I have everything central. Unless of course I try to turn hard left at full noise.
The only thing with weight, here in Aussie land, is that we can only race with a 1P pack set up, so I have had to add extra weight at the very front of the tub. The first couple of test runs were very flighty before I added the weight.

785....would you say the weight that you added weighs as much or close to another 6S Pack?

Do you have any pics of the inside setup of your boat?

              Thanks,

              Kent

I only added about 300 grams of lead but it is across the tub at the very leading edge. Not as much as a 6s pack but it's further forward so it has more effect on the COG.
That video was a first test run, before I added the weight. As you could see, a bit flighty so I was being a bit careful.

Here's the build thread Olwarbirds was referring to. You might glean a couple of ideas for your build or you may not.

                        Cheers.
                        Paul.

Paul...saw your build thread...boat looks excellent! Thanks for the tips on your weight placement. Looks my use of 2S and 4S packs may just be the ticket for my setup...we'll see ....

Paul, tks...I knew you had a build thread, just could not remember where....Kent yw, your right Paul's GP turned out excellent. I had forgot about Paul adding nse weight. I've decided to go with 2 6S parallel 8000 mah. Hopefully that will be enough.....DJ

10.5 oz. would be a Low MAH 6S a 5000mah 6S weighs around 25 oz on average..... DJ
