    1800cc Hydroplane

Just received a set of plans to build a Clark Craft 11' Hydroplane and thought I would post some info about it for any one interested.
The Hydroplane calls for a 1800cc motor and reaches speeds into the 90's, Acording to the publication.
The plans came with three full size patterns, a building guide, and some instructions.
I have figured out some costs and could build the boat for around 2 to 3 Thousand dollars depending on the motor and hardware, Hell I have spent almost the same on some of my other RC Needs !!! So something like this is very interesting to me right now.
There are still classes for racing hulls like this but I am not sure I would want to race anything any more after running Solo 1,2, and 3, IMCA Stock cars and 125cc Shifters.
And the prop kind of scares me !!!
On the other hand there are some really kewl jet boats that are 11' long and use a jetski as a doner for the motor and pump

Here is a link to some completed jet boats go to the page and scroll down to SQUIRT and DYNO JET for awsome pictures:

    Cheers

The Hydroplane is totally awsome in every way except the prop !!! The Squirt is pretty awsome and would be a cheaper build if you could find a doner jetski with a cracked hull.
Sure would make a crazy retrieval boat !!! I for one would flip my boat to use it !!!

thats pretty cool highndry. I want to build a tiny might or a squirt. Blastoff, you should use a honda motor for it, like a b16, or b18 can't go wrong with honda! I have 2 honda's, they keep going and get good MPG!

Thanks for the link. I'll check for other pics. It took me three years to finish, but I took off one of those years. If you stick with it working nights and weekends you could finish in a couple of months. I wasted quite a bit of fairly expensive okume' plywood. Total cost including power ~ $ 2,500.00. Glen-L is very helpful. I wld recommend the frame kit if they are still available. When I have alittle time, will do the Tiny Titan for my 8 yr old.
