I've got that Hitec X4 AC plus and I love it! You can't beat it for the $ What's really nice about it is you can either plug it into 110 or use it on 12v so you don't need a seperate power supply and all that stuff. It'll work on a generator too.

That's one of the main reasons for me buying it. Other than the fact that it charges 4 batteries at one time. I honestly think that thus charger is just 4 traxxas ez peak chargers put together. The functions are exactly the same and so is the display. I have two of the traxxas chargers right now. Just too much mess and I can only do two batts at one time.32" carbon rivercat single 4s 102mph, 27” mini Rivercat 92mph, kbb34 91mph, jessej micro cat(too fast) wasComment

Help me out a little......I'm all ears. I haven't picked it up yet so my options are still open. I posted a thread on it but no one really chimed in anything that was helpful. I always balance charge and after using my batts and they cool off....I bring them up to storage voltage. I do this everytime.32" carbon rivercat single 4s 102mph, 27” mini Rivercat 92mph, kbb34 91mph, jessej micro cat(too fast) wasComment

On the hitec x4 you have 50watts per channel, and 6 amp charge rate. To be totally honest, those specs are rubbish in today's market. If you want to charge fast, you need more watts and amps. Which means you charge at more than 1c. You also need lipos that can be charged at more than 1c, but most packs are rated for more than 1c nowadays anyways. I like charging at 2c. If you want to stay hitec I would get the X2 400. Also you'll need an efficient enough power supply.
As far as parallel charging goes, it's just what it sounds like. You hook up 2 of the same spec lipos together in parallel and charge them. This takes a simple parallel adaptor for the power leads and the balance leads.
So you end up with a dual charger that can charge your 4 lipos all at the same time in about hour. That x4 would take about 3 hours maybe more.Comment

I got the hitec charger. I'll get to try it out tonight. Gonna have 4 2s packs and 4 3s packs to charge and run tomorrow. Get to see how this thing does with a three blade prop. Then my new project came in today. My carbon fiber river cat that I'm building a saw (whatever that means! Lol) boat out of. Its going to have some serious reinforcement done to it and some nice equipment going in it. I'm excited about it!32" carbon rivercat single 4s 102mph, 27” mini Rivercat 92mph, kbb34 91mph, jessej micro cat(too fast) wasComment

Not that this has much to do with my build.....I got to charge all my batteries tonight with my new charger. I like it. A lot. It seems to charge faster than my previous charger. I'm glad I got this one.32" carbon rivercat single 4s 102mph, 27” mini Rivercat 92mph, kbb34 91mph, jessej micro cat(too fast) wasComment

I figured you'd like it, I'm thinking it's probably a little under rated because it sure seems to me like it charges faster than it's rated.Comment

Yea I think its under rated. My traxxas charger would take about 52-58 minutes yo charge the same battery that took 32 minutes with the x4 from the same voltage state.32" carbon rivercat single 4s 102mph, 27” mini Rivercat 92mph, kbb34 91mph, jessej micro cat(too fast) wasComment

I'm sorry I thought I got more video action than I did. In this video the only time it was full throttle was right at the beginning. My son was driving and he was scared of it. Still not bad tho.
