thinned down resin most likely, I have to talk to my glass guy. I got some more aluminum tonight for backing plates.
The Manx has been sitting dormant, but I think I finally have my motivation back. I hope to see it float soon.

We have been thining down fiberglass resin and spraying it with a paint gun (clean the gun very good after spraying though) Works ok, just seems like setup time is forever, and always feels tacky, but we have done 3 boats that way and the paint is hard as a rock and no problems. I wonder if heating the resin would be better, then spraying it for a uniform coating. But I wonder if the heating method makes it kick off faster, I know it does with epoxy.

I'm starting to think it may be easier to use a brush instead of painting, and the cure time is probably better.

Torched the sv esc on the Pickle the other day ( cooling line came off). Unable to find a replacement locally. If anyone has one that wld like to part with it , bring it Sunday . I'll take a hydra 120 also. Stole one from my tunnel so I can run the Pickle, but I wld like to have both ready and I'm not one to switch back and forth ( lazy). Wld not normally post here, but I know you guys are montoring this thread.

Hey John, I spent two days repairing Grants 33 after I made a dumb *!***!***!***!** move and put a small hole in his hull during our race. i think we are are going to have some new boats this time. Accordingly, I am going to give plenty of time for those who want to air out new boats. Racing will be secondary.

Boats don't win races, drivers do.

Well I have all my backing plates made up. I will be resin coating the wood tonight. Now I'm off to the local HS to get some plumbing supplies for my cooling system. Fabbing up the cooling system and thrust bearing support is all that is left for prep work. I should be ready for assembly tomorrow night, I may even get in a test run before Sundays meet.
At this point I may get some graphics done too, it depends on how busy my sign guy is.

What do you mean by trust bearing support? I imagine you mean thrust bearing but I still wonder what a thrust bearing support is? Thanks

yes thrust (I am king of leaving letter out of words), basically a spacer type bracket that will screw to the front of the motor as the mount I have holds the motor by the can this way I do not have to cut down the shaft. I will put up pics once it is done.

I test fit a bearing from obrien and I will not need a bracket for this set up.

I like the idea of the metal backing plates for the hardware. good thinking Avanti.

Just curious why you didn't take the transom doubler all the way to the bottom of the V. Are those Arrowshark trim tabs? Pretty.
