I think just run it and see how it does, then adjust as neccesary. Looks good btw.

Cut down the stinger. Make the drive dog even with the leading edge of the rudder. Usually 1 inch, it appears you have done something different to your stinger, or rudder extension is short.
When Doug Smock did this his boats changed for the better.
All the best,
Ray
Actually, all of you need to know that the DF33 is a copy of the Seaducer 33, if you want to know how to make a Seaducer go fast, set it up according to Jerry Crowthers instructions. Freely available @ seaducerboats.
The rudder offsets and depth are very important. When setup correctly, trim tabs are not needed.
Oh, by the way, Jerry Crowther, Ron Green and Doug Smock all run standard struts with a small wet well on SAWS boats, no stingers.

Credit where Credit is Due
Hugh,
The first peron I know of to suggest that the drive dog should be even with the leading edge of the rudder is Paul Pachmeyer. It's been repeated many times by many people, I have never found it at fault on any hull type. No disrespect to you, just tryin to give kudo's where they are due.

thanks guys, everything you see on the boat is how I got it from the manufacturer I have not modified anything yet.
I will not be cutting down my stinger anytime soon, but a rudder extension is possible. The Manx has been sitting dormant, but I think I finally have my motivation back. I hope to see it float soon.Comment

I'm going to use the disc sander at one of my customers' shop. my second battery from tower should be here Tuesday. I have no idea when to expect the turn fins. I still need to make a thrust bearing plate as well. to late for pics maybe tomorrow.

It will have my company logo and definitely a lot of red when it's done, but this weekend it will most likely just be white. The Manx has been sitting dormant, but I think I finally have my motivation back. I hope to see it float soon.Comment

my concerns with the motor mount were not valid, it turns out you only use 4 out of 8 holes the other side gets cut off. http://www.buyfastelectricrc.com/pd-...resc-mount.cfmThe Manx has been sitting dormant, but I think I finally have my motivation back. I hope to see it float soon.Comment
