Is one water pick up enough for a big twin?

    Hi guys,

I am going to be building a HPR CT04 twin. I rather use a rudder pick up then the bottom hull ones since the boat is going to be painted first and I don't want to screw anything up.
I am going with Warner German drives and rudder. I have the option of having him install a water pick up on the rudder. Only problem is the fact that he can only install one pick up. Is that enough for a twin? Can I install a splitter inside the hull? Just wondering! Anyone have similar experience?

    Thanks!

Is this going to be well within the limits of electronics? Sport running? Reason I ask is its always better to have more water than less. A splitter will not equally split the volume of water. In my opinion the rudder pickups are very effective in supplying flow. If it's more of a show boat and you are trying to keep things simple then it should be fine to use one pick up. When you hook everything up try and make sure both sides are using the same length of tubing, as this will help keep a equal flow from your splitter. It really doesn't take much to keep components cool when they are being used within the specifications of manufacturer.

Thanks for your feedback. It will be for sport running.
