This boat came complete , but paint has peeled from the 1st owner , it had a T-180 with a 40mm 1500kv turnigy motor on 2x 3s 5000 . it will get the same back in with a leopard
        4082 1600kv on 2 x 3s .

Yes You need to couple the stuffing box to the strut to get a better support .Gill

Just think of it when you need to adjust the angle of the strut, if the tube is not coupled to strut you will be rubbing the flex on the tube and surely kink and break. The tube has enough give to flex for adjustments, up, down, changing angle, but has to be coupled to strut for its own support. Like said above.
If you didn't want to remove entire flex, it is at the point where it is relatively straight you could always use the next larger size tube as a couple to add a length same diameter to make up the needed shortcoming. Just a thought if you didn't want the work of re-tubing.

Thanks very MUCH guys , thats what i thought also , now this strut dose not fit the 1/4 KNB its the next size smaller , can i drill out the strut to fit 1/4 knb tube . Is there any think i can use to strip the boat from this bad paint and not harm the gelcoat .... thanks for all your comments .

You can drill the strut but first check if KS has a brass tube that can be used for this coupling.wet sanding is the best way to get rid of a bad paint with no harm to the gel coat.Gill

Yes they do grsb. i think the previous owner up graded to a 187 cable from the 150 , thus making the stuffing tube bigger , I think he has twisted 2 of them . Now with the 187 cable will it effect the smaller tube or fix good idea , i was goung to go the other way , one size bigger ,,,,,wet sanding it is . BTW thanks very much

Thanks for the reply guys , this hull has been a challenge so i left it alone for a while . Paint stripper if used could be nasty . 1 1/2 weeks go by . So what took the paint off was tape so i used 3 rolls of hatch tape to remove the rest of it . Came off like peeling skin :) . I extended the stuffing tube so its not floating any more . I had to test this out last weekend i got it together and headed out with the guys .....this hull is awesome on the 1st set up i was able to hit 57 MPH .IMGA0022.jpgIMGA0111.jpgimages (1).jpg The last pic is my paint scheme i'd like too do . Funny, I just re built the exact same hull, running a TP 4082 1450kv motor

Do you guys think this hull would handle better with an offset ruder instead of the in line ruder?
i am just working on the ruder mod now, its looking like my ruder can be offset ok with a bit of work.
