    Delta Force 29.5 Build

    Hi Everyone,

I'm pretty new here to posting but have been reading for a while. I just recently bought a DF29 and I need some suggestions on setup. I did a search and they have tons of info on the 25'' and the 33'' but not much on the 29.The boat came from Fullers. I originally bought a hydro from him but it came in damaged. I chose to get the 29'' mono and hardware instead of another hydro. I have his super 12-cell hardware kit. Any suggestions will be appreciated.

Motors, CG, Props, Hardware Placement, and any tips that you could share.

    Thanks,
    TTH

P.S. Pics would help, also I will post mine as I go.

    Hi TTH,
Unfortunately there isn't much info on the 29, i most people go for the 33 because of the power available.
If you look at the DF33 build threads you'll find that the hardware setup will be practically the same.
Are you planning on running it on 12cells, 4s1p or 4s2p? This will determine motor choice and the internal layout.

I personally like the 29 better for recreational use. It allows for the same motor as a d33 or a tad hotter wind, but the motor ill run better in the d29. You could run a feigao 9xl and hydra 120. But for more choices Heath is right we need to know your power supply?

I have 12cells and 14 cells, all IB4200's. 2s2p and 4s2p setups. The motors I have available are Feigao 8xl and a Feigao 6L. I also have a Hydra 120. I know it's probably not possible but would that 6L be at all suitable for the DF29. I originally bought it for a DF vortex build.

I dont think a 6L would work at all.

I pretty much figured that. Just thought I'd throw it out there? You never know.
I'm willing to buy a new motor if needed. It's not going to be a racing rig just for very fast stable sport use.

Steve are you still going to get some of those Delta Force Micro Hydro's?

The 8XL would probably get that thing flyin but I dont think the Hydra 120 will hold up. Maybe try a 240, just an idea.

H&M Will: I read that the 8xl has a draw of 83 amps. You don't think the hydra 120 is up to it?

Douggie: what speed and temps are you getting? Also what props run well on this boat?

I am just goin by what I was told when I was buildin my Triton. It is a bit bigger boat so maybe the 120 would work for you. The 240 would just be a safer bet thats all.

My DF29 setup is 8xl Barra 125 4s1p and x440/3 prop, speeds are somewhere in the mid 40's.I originally ran it on 12cells (4200's) and a m445 , it ran great on it's own,but was to much prop with other boats on the water...
One tip is turn your steering trim right down as these boats will turn on a dime, mine is set to 80%

Heath M, just for reference what temps and amp draw are you getting? This may be the same setup I'll go with if temps stay reasonable.

I think the 8XL will do it under 12 cell as long as the baby is not too wet... Lipo's instead of Nimh could help!
