I bet the hammer is a failsafe for when ish goes wrong he throttles the boat into a million pieces and leaves no trail that there was ever a boat to begin with. Well at least that is what I would do with the hammer. Good thing the hammer is not near the work bench when I am working on breakable things.

Heaving Earth - you said you had a problem? I think I had the problem. CF strips on my truck, part of my door panel and dash that was originally wood grain. My wife's laptop. And I still have a few feet left.
