I always do... usually just use some thinned epoxy, brushed on with a cheap paint brush... One coat seems to work fine. Also helps to ensure that the wood stays bonded to the hull.

What do you use to thin epoxy?

I've always used a small amount of isopropyl rubbing alcohol

By 99% alcohol do you mean the denatured stuff?? That's the stuff I used to clean the glue off the motor, motor mount, motor mount screws and the grub screws in the coupler, I like it because it does a good job of cleaning without attacking plastic, gel coats, etc.

                    Hey Darin,
Before I bought my boat (PB IM-31 V1) and while waiting for delivery, I tried to learn everything I could about the IM's. In several threads members have mentioned cracked canopy's, needless to say I expected to receive a boat with a cracked canopy.

Instead of making a big deal about it, I said to myself buy one of these kits (again while waiting for delivery)... http://www.walmart.com/ip/Bondo-Fibe...1-2pt/17056867 - and add an extra layer of glass to the underside of the canopy before 1st use. Guess I got lucky because my canopy doesn't have any cracks, so that kit is still NIB.

Before this thread my thinking was... Use that kit to tie the wood to the hull, primarily the battery tray (both sides), and the area where the stock ESC goes - because the vertical wood is thinner on that side than it is on the servo side. Once done, sand eveything then apply the stuff I originally asked about.

Should I do that first, then use the Z-poxy (instead of the stuff I asked about)?? Or use the Z-poxy with the fiberglass cloth that came with the kit?? Maybe some combination of both??

Thanks to everybody for your help, much appreciated
