    Excellent.

Good to know. Tunning is an art, and I'm glad Wilmer got great results.

Your shaving sounds similar to what I was considering doing.... get rid of the lip. I look forward to seeing your picts of progress and hearing how that motor/esc combo runs.

    Keep us updated.

I think he said it was 3500kv compared to 3000kv of the other motor.

Actually, it is 3850 rpm/V, so we shall see what happens. I'm thinking it may be fun.

I'll take more photos when it looks like something worthwhile. I've been lying a bit low since I received some rather vicious responses and a vulgar and vitriolic PM from an illiterate buffoon stemming from a (what I thought a seemingly harmless) post on another thread. Such is life.

Don't give it another thought. All that has passed.

              Photos will follow soon.

If there is something special (ie, weird thrust angles or some strange cg stuff), then I would love to hear about it.

If there are some specific numbers that went into how that boat was built, please share them.
Not a problem, I was just trying to say that it takes time on the water. But that is what we want to do!

                    That looks excellent.

You need to post some details about how your doing it at some point so the rest of us can take advantage of you having already gone through the process.

Are you sharpening all of the edges? It looks like you've been working on the bottom of the hull as well.

Remind me again, where did your silver pipe some from?

It was cheap drug store "scented spray" for chicks. You have to do some shopping in the cosmetics section.

48 mph, that realy is cook'n in this boat. Wilmer's definately got the nack for pulling speed out of small hulls. My sincerest congratulations.

How he manages to keep the thing on the water amazes me. Almost 50 with this hull is insane.

Details for the sharpening/blueprinting are simple. I mix epoxy and Cab-O-Sil into a thick paste consistency. About like cable grease. Then I use a credit card to spread it around. Several flat sanding blocks makes shaping it easy. Build it up, sand it off, fill the low spots, sand it off, and so on. I actually managed to get a thin spot in the plastic on one of the sides aft of the sponson, so I put a couple of layers of 1.5 oz. fiberglass cloth over the thin spot and all is well again.

The hull is amazingly stiff, yet light. Any flex in a hull absorbs power, so the stiffer the hull, the better. The epoxy mix holds razor-sharp edges. I'm thinking I may do the same "Jet Sauce" ride surfaces as I did on the Campbell shovel (colloidal graphite/epoxy mixture). It's a lot of extra work, but I think it does help reduce hydrodynamic drag.

I've decided to make vacuum-formed plastic vertical fins and wing. The fins will have two 1/16" SS wires sticking out of the bottom of the fin. These wires will go into 1/16" ID aluminum tubes that are set into the hull, making the fins "Plug-in" assemblies. The removable wing will be adjustable or fixed at the builder's option.
