    Cheetah Innards

I've been accumulating parts for my Cheetah build. Jim from South River RC powder coated the speedmaster stingers as well as made and powder coated the motor mounts! He is great to work with! Also included my MM single just because!
We did it with a Bang!

Nice work. Should be a gorgeous build, if the nicely done MM is any indication. After building one for a customer, I was pleasantly surprised to receive a Cheetah hull from Jason at FCR for a birthday present. I built it as a single, having just decommissioned my P-Mono Cyberstorm and had the powerplant available (plus I'm fairly sure I don't have the patience, ability, or small fingers to do a twin).

I'm just in love with mine. Once in a long while a boat hits the scene that just nails it and the Cheetah hits it on the head. Mine's bringing me back to the realm of total fun running. At 34 1/4" it just misses the 34" length limit for P-Offshore and the soon to be homologated NAMBA P-Cat oval class and I could care less ; my Cheetah is just for pleasure and it serves that role perfectly.

There's a Cheetah Owner's Club on KBB. Jump in

        Tony,
I've cut my cheetah down to 34". Really only about 3/16" I first added a half ounce of epoxy into each tip then ground it down with a sander. It never broke thru into the epoxy.
I think I see a twin Cheetah in the future.

Jim over at southriver rc boats is great to work with, he ships things out very quickly too. Also in the process of building a cheetah will probably get a 1717 sirius motor with sf200 esc. Everything looks great powdercoated also nice choice on the rudder. I have one on my big boat works very well and is a great deal

Fluid recommended a long rudder on the MM and it works like a champ so I figured I'd go long and beefy on the cheetah! The only thing I have to remember is to change the brass bolt that acts as a shear bolt nylon is our friend! Well my wife in nylons has always been my friend!

Used to have a nice place to run In Sayreville. Low sulfur content so weeds didn't grow, fish wouldn't live. no ducks or grease and no turtles! Crystal clear too! But the boys with the 4 wheels drives ran rough shod over the gentlemens property. So gates went up fences were added!

Ah that sucks dude. The brass sheer bolt broke, me being the clown I am I hit a rock going 5mph with my boat and it snapped no problem....then again my boat is 30lbs.

Good looking mounts, and drives. Are you going for the blacked out look? It should look sick man. What motors are you going to run? And them are some big batteries for a cheetah

With that setup your Cheetah will be rather heavy. One word : FLOTATION. As a recent victim at WWIX of Mr. Archimedes' principal (and lost an all-out P-Sport Hydro), take my advice

Nice build EOD. No need to swap out the brass bolt with nylon. Brass works fine.

You didnt loose a FE30 did you Tony?? Welcome to the Club!!
My replacement has 2 part foam in the sponsons and pool noodle any place there is room.

Have you lost a FE 30 chilli? Looks like we got a lil club going, 3 members so far?

The cheetah is a good looking boat.
