Yes I am also a bit skeptical of the extra weight.
I used 180A ESC for the single setup previously and it weighs about twice as much as the 120A and I am going to try the same batteries so the extra weight is in the drive and the extra motor.
I'm also a bit skeptical of runn time as ampere hours are halved.
But my goal is, as previously said not to get it faster, but more stable.

I also have a Zonda with 2x4074 2000kv and 2x180A ESC that I would rather use to reach high speeds. This, by the way, I need battery suggestions for. Thinking 5S ..

Thanks for replying. ? is in the video, you were on the high seas, correct! Attaining higher speeds and keeping stability on those water conditions in the video might not be possible but worth a try. Take care, be watching reviews!

The other side of coin; hope all works out and you achieve your goal, have a good day!
2 motors are going to be more efficient....Plus this hull will perform better with twin motors in the sponsons and a lower center of gravity in an already narrow cat.

But I could not wait to drill some holes to test fit some of the hardware:)
It was impossible to mount the stingers lower than what I have done here and I put them as wide as possible without having to raise them since the boat is so narrow already.

Now the next challenge, how to bend the thin tubes without getting a kink in them?
I just have to make a slight bend upwards so I don't get a kink into the stingers.

Looking good so far. On these hulls, the sponson transom is not perpendicular. Looking at your last pic the stingers are not allowed to fully adjust for positive and negative angle, or even to neutral for that matter.

Fightercat sells a shim to fix this problem.

Thanks and thanks for replying guys!
The vid is from a big freshwater lake here in Norway and it can get a bit rough, but that was what I thought was the most fun.
Yes I would think that the center of gravity is much lower like this without the motor high up in the middle.
Thanks, I've seen this shim, but I am a bit skeptical if it will fit. It's real tight back there.
I have tryed to show it in this picture where I think it will hit the hull if I use it. Have you tryed the shim?
            But it's worth trying:)

Here is a better picture of how little space there is, so if anyone has tried the shim, Feel free to say how well it fits :)

Today I got the last ESC so I have tested the layout as I had first planned and it seems to work just fine. I only got left to get soldered motor cables and EC5 connectors. I think the COG is fine too. With batteries fully back it ends up at around 25% and has plenty of space ahead of the batteries to move the COG forward.

Here is allso a picture of why the choice fell on the 110mm stingers rather than the 80mm. This is with a 45mm prop and then it's would just be to short.

Looks good - thats a lot of work! I would think smaller props would be more ideal not that you have gone to a twin. Do you have a plan for what props to test with?

                    Thanks!
Now I only have three sets of contra-rotating propellers and it is the originals for the Zonda, which is 440, one set of cnc 445 Also, I got the 450/3 from HK just to see how they looked :)
I'm going to test it with the 440's first but was hoping to run with the 445's on 4S.
I would like to try it on 5S also with the 440's.
Do you have any recommendations maybe? Would love some 3blade :)

I was thinking of trying the 450/3's on the Zonda, might pull to mutch amps, but they look so SWEET that I wan't to try them. Love the look of 3 blades
Have to drill up the hole from 4mm to 3/16 though...

                    Regards

Nice boat man. It will go way faster with the twin motor setup and your components will thank you in the long run.

                        Thank you.
Now the boat is allmost finished, got the ESC's soldered today and programed them. Just need to mount the antenna:)
                        And I need a ice-free lake!
                        -20C here today!

I'm still waiting for spring and some ice-free lakes
But I've still got a little bit done.
I have started to make me a rescue craft by an older KYOSHO nitro majesty.
It's too ugly to be used for anything else and will be converted to electric.
I'm not going to swim after the boat right after the ice has gone so I'm going to have a chance of retrieving a possible shipwreck
I have also made me a a long time wanted RC corner down in my workshop.

Today I defied snow and ice to test the boats.
I took a walk down to the lake to see what it looked like in terms of ice and it was crystal clear water and no ice in sight, but when I went to pick up the boats and came back it had come a huge ice floe. And when the ice disappeared, the wind came
I first tested the rescue boat as there is plenty of current in the water where I tested, so I would have it ready in case.

                            CIMG0273.jpgCIMG0274.jpgCIMG0275.jpg

I tried the genesis with 440 propellers first, but only a few runs to check the temperature, I switched quickly to 445 because there was no heat in any of the electronics and it seemed to work out well.

I thought it went good, but was not really surprised, but when I got home I found that the EPA on the trotle was set to 80% so I need to test out some more
I have also ordered some 5S 5000Ah 35-70C that I'm going to test soon.

I never checked the run time as there was a lot of in and out, but it seemed ok.
I have two poor videos of how the genesis went and how the rescue vessel worked.
                            Trying to upload them now...

                            Edit:

I've been out and tested a bit today too and was more satisfied today.
The boat is very nice in the water, but still lacks a bit of speed.
One battery was drained much more than the other, so I think one engine is destroyed.
After the first test ride, I charged 2400 mah on one and 3500 mah on the other.
It is also very low "compression" in the one motor draws the most current.
Depends whether I should have bought two new motors.
So which motors would you recommended for 4S/5S in this boat?

Here are some pictures from the trip today:

I am thinking of doing this conversion also and just buying the hull. Would you be able to post the links of all the parts and where you ordered them from? it would help me a lot. Thanks,
