Oh...have you figured out how far back you can get your COG with your setup?
Are you going to run cable for your steering?
that OS leg is probably heavier than my REK, but my big fiego adds a fair amount of weight.
I would definitely make sure you don't have to cut the hull back further before gluing in your box. You can see how far back I went (the third time) to get my weight aft.
      Looking good!!

        Corey,

I haven't been able to check my COG yet I don't have all my parts. Still waiting for motor, Hijacker, battery, FE conversion. I should have everything by next week. Looks like some of the items I ordered didn't make the "by christmas" cut so I'll be pretty bored until everything arrives. I must be bored now cause I just drew up some graphics in cad and printed them up on paper to get an idea of what I want. check it out.

I revised my setup by moving the radio box back as far as it'll go.

Got a chance to hit the water today and shoot a short video using my phone velcro'd to my transmitter :)

Took me an hour to find a local lake that didn't have ice on it.....weird for Whidbey/Fidalgo Island WA!
After puffing one of the 2S batteries last time, and melting the Deans connectors, I'm running a 4S 30C Zippy 5000mAH through Castle 5.5 bullets. I didn't GPS this run, but I ran again later with the GPS fwd of the half-used battery and recorded 38.0mph, so I suspect this run was close...if not closer to 40mph. Noticed there was no bounce on my second run so maybe the weight of the GPS fwd lessened this. I think I will adjust the prop up a bit and add some lead weight to the nose for the turns. I've heard this is how the real boats run...
Time to order more 4S batteries :)

BTW, my boat on the scale (kitchen scale that is) minus batteries, is at 4lbs-14oz.
COG on the video'd run, with battery, was at ~7-3/4" from the stern.

Boy I love the look of these boats skimming across the water!

Looking forward to seeing some video of yours!

Full throttle off the start will most definitely result in a back flip of the boat :)

                              Ben,
I love the clip lanyards! I've been dutifully placing my clips and bushings in a ziploc after every run, but I know it's just a matter of time before I lose 'em.
I'm headed to the LHS tomorrow for some crawler stuff for my boy....hope they have something similar!
                              Where did you get those?

I have these on most of my cars/trucks, got tired of buying body clips all the time.
