    Another DF33 Build

Received my Hull today and am eager to get it in the water
I have most of the parts here, just waiting on a Speedmaster rudder and trim tabs to turn up.. I'm going to use a stringer strut, and instead of cutting it down like i did on my DF29 i'm going to extend the rudder bracket...
Power plant will be 4s1p and a Neu 1515 2D (2050 kv) Just to test and if thats not up to scratch then i'll put a 1515 1y in..
    Just acouple of starting Q's
    1. How far back should i set the motor from the transome??
2.. how far up from the keel should the center of the stuffing box hole be??

    Thanks

I have mine set at 3/8" (to the centre line) above the keel line. Settles the transom in nicely.

Well i've got the rails and motor mount installed aswell as the stuffing box and holes for the strut.. Once the stuffing box Epoxy sets i'll add the servo which i think i'll fix to the rails if there's enough room...

          Boat is now finished
I mounted the servo into the rails instead of adding an extra mount, Pitty i didn't think about it before i glued in the rails,as it was alittle tricky cutting the area out
I glued in a battery tray and screwed velcro staps to it to hold them in place. The tray also allows for the ESC to mounted to it..
All hardware is speedmaster and is now fitted. It is ment to have 4 trim tabs but i accidently damaged 2 of the SS trim plates (Don't ask ) so 2 will have to do for now.
With this setup the COG can be moved from 30% to 35% if needed..
As per our rules a safety loop was added to cut the connection between battery and speedy. This is simply made from 10g wire and 5.5mm bullets and plugs into the - port of esc and battery..
First test are today so hopefully all will go well

Nice build mate. Watching with interest.
Is that one of Andrewg's Kuhlers on the Neu? If so what do you think of them. I have had some good reports about them. Might have to get me one.

It went well with the first run ,somehow i jagged the setup and it ran just about perfect, i started with a M445 prop and the COG at 30% . After 2 laps of our course i bought it in to check the temps, and they were fine, nothing was more than a touch warm (no temp gun to get actual readings).
I ran it a couple more times but only briefly as the wind picked up and started blowing white caps across the lake..
Next time i'll try a m447 prop and see how it goes. Hopefully it will be alittle calmer too..
But overall i'm very happy with the end result, just need to do some fine tuning and it will be ready to race

Hey Paddy thanks for the comments, i'll have decals on it Wednesday so will post final pics then..
The Jacket is one of AG's and seems to work great,i've not seal around the edge of this one as it's just a loaner motor and i didn't get any leaking..
