One thing I've learn in electrics, and that is there are no SHORT Cuts...it will only cost you and frustrate you. First lesson in all avenues of life...Before you cross the street stop, look in every direction and if you need assistance ASK. Second thing Keep your Motor KV's low and voltage high, it minimizes equipment failure and Third (for me personally) Brushed equipment is for scale stuff, it's like dealing with a fossil fuel model engine ( P.I.t.A.) Brushless is the way to go efficient, clean plug and play. Lastly, we were tough this in New York School system....R.I.F. Reading Is Fundamental....You gotta do the research...it's a must

There is nothing wrong with Feaigo motors, but the XL series will not drive this boat unless you use a transmision and a large prop. As previously stated ...low kv....high voltage, but the ESC will be pricey. The KB series of motors are another choice but they love amps and are rather poorly built.

The SV27 has a good motor just look at what it does for the SV27 Tower Hobbies sells them for under 50 bucks and they are low in KV

just buy the SV motor and ESC combo from the OSE's store.
                              Its an excellent deal.

Or buy a SV motor and one of those X power 70amp or 100amp esc's
