ML Boatworks SX400 sport 40 hydroplane...A refinement of the GP series!

So after getting pounded by a certain member on here about the GP400 just being a flat out ugly boat that cannot fit enough batteries, I got to thinking....The GP is not ugly, but I have more ideas in my head, and those include shingled sponsons, flat plate technology in the recovery pad area, way more battery room, and a new twist on how it looks. Once tested, I will evaluate if the extra bottom features are worth the effort of modifying the GP400. Both hulls will stay in production, as this will give different people two visual choices on one great running platform! So, pick your poison, this hull, like the GP series is very very easy to build. Yes, that is (4)- 4s 5000mah 35c hyperion packs in the front of this hull. They fit easily, can someone say 8s, 10,000mah!!!! Enjoy, Mike

John, I will be running it on 6s. I shoved 8s 10000mah in there to show everyone the space is legit! haha. I also put (2) 5s- 6500mah hyperions in there for a 10s 6500mah setup, and there was tons of room left even then! Mike

            Mike,

I've been extremely happy with my first wood build..the GP335L! For P hydro racing it's incredibly stable and a definate winner! the boat is dialed in at 57mph with an X542 which has been plenty fast for race water. I'm ready to go Q and decided GP335 needs a big brother. Could you shoot me a price for the GP400.

            Thanks,
            Todd

Thanks for the compliments guys. Sorry I have not given many updates lately. Seems like there is always something else going on. I am about half way done with the second SX400. First one went out to the guy that helped with my molds as a thank you gift! I will have more pics up as time permits to finish the build. Mike

Well, months later, I finally got one finished! haha. This is a pretty sweet looking hull. I still have to sand the outside sponson deck edge, then sand all of the boat, and epoxy. Enjoy, Mike

Thanks Peter, He is trying to cut as fast as possible. The two major part failures in the last couple months really hurt. He has around 19 orders with me right now waiting to get cut, so you are not alone. Heck, I had to cut my shovelnose 1/10th scale hull with the bandsaw as I could not get a kit for myself! Talk soon, Mike
