Just finished it today. Hope to take it out later.

Starting out with a X640 prop. Might go to a higher amp economy controller with larger props, depending on speed/amps and handling.

Typical first run. Have some issues to work out.

Water in hull. Add seal to drive line.
          Needs more rudder movement.
Move servo as far forward as possible to help CG. Might add some weights to front of hull?
          Larger prop. More speed!

I have the Proboat 1/12 Llumar and space is very tight. I'd like to build it in a few months. I am considering on running either an 8L-3072kv with 3S/4500/30C or an 8XL-2084kv with 4S1P/4500/30C using (2) 2S packs placed along the sides of the motor in a "V" pattern. I may have to breach the side wall.

Getting the correct COG is a challenge on these boats - I'd like to get the COG 2in behind the sponson. On my hull, the strut doesn't lie flat along the horizontal plane of the hull, so I may have to rework the mounting area or shim it.

Are you running liner-less? The stock teflon liner is not good. As soon as I saw it, I thought that water could be a problem. I going to experiment with 0.130 liner and try the fuel tubing on the stuffing tube/liner interface at the motor end, which I learned from you.

It's a great looking boat, keep us posted!

I am running a 7L on 2S2P and the batteries fit up in the nose just fine I started with the 8XL and the fit was the same

The COG is 2.5 inches behind the sponsons. I am going to move the servo and receiver as far forward as possible and might add some lead weights to the front of the hull to get the COG closer. (Weights glued on the inside front of the sponsons, like ones I have seen on nitro hydros.)

I am running .150 flex with no teflon liner.

Plan on running a V937/3 after I make some mods. (That is a wick-ed looking prop.) Calculates to use less than 45 amps and run in the 40's on NiMH's. Hope I don't need a longer rudder.

Did not work well. Need a larger diameter prop. Maybe a V940/3?

The pitch on that prop looks serious! Is there any way we can avoid adding weight? I have to see how I'll approach this issue on my Llumar when I get the chance...

It does not take much weight to move the CG forward. Soap box derby car or airplane balancing weights will work. I still have not decided, if it will be necessary.

Wow! Space is tight on these boats. Looks great tho.

Reddy-where did you find the hull(damaged)? Looks great!!
My prop hasn't been wet in a while.

You can make the rear wing adjustable to compensate for the balance point. Nitro racers will adjust the spoiler for different weather conditions, like moving the balance point.

Install some long pins in the front of the wing for a pivot point and make an adjustable link or links on the rear of the wing to the body.

Miss Budweiser with the Blackjack motor / controller combo on 12 cells and a X640 prop.

Still not satisfied with it yet.
