I would look at a Leopard 4074 motor. Go with the 2000 Kv for 4S or 1400 Kv on 6S. Also look at the SeaKing T180 ESC. All can be found on the OSE store.

You will also need the FE hatch which OSE has .

How hard was it to remove the radio box? I thought about leaving it in, and using it.

i bought mine from ose. it was a bare hull. my point is, you dont need the flat hatch, you can just make a sub hatch that tapes down water tight

the radio box is pointless unless you can fit all your electronic devises in it. better to just rip it out and make the whole interior of the hull water tight

I think I remember on an old MM thread where it was suggested to put some heat on the box (like a hair dryer) and the box would pull out without hurting anything. Taping the standard hatch is a little bit of a PITA but not a big deal.

Here are a few picks of one I did for my son a few years back (with electronics from the stone age).

I like your ideas. Never thought about using heat. Just happen to have a good heat gun. My boat came from Aeromarine listed as water damaged. I paid $110 total with hardware, strut and rudder along with 2 servos (one junk, one works) plus this was a nitro boat and has a new never been run engine in it. No exhaust was ever installed. The hull is in good shape. The hardware has some stains on the alum. and some of the steel screws are rusted. Alum cleansd up, and replaced the screws.

They weren't my ideas. LOL There were a ton of these bought for FE conversion a couple years back when Remy offered them after the flood. I would probably just heat the radio box side and not the tunnel.

BTW- Notice where I located the antenna, water inlets and radio swicth. Looks good but in hindsite it was a bad idea. Too close to the lip of the hatch. Made taping even more difficult. School of hard knocks!! Keep any hardware at least a half inch from the hatch seam.

Thanks good ideas . I wondered how a boat could get water damaged. You answered that question also.
