Ok here is what I have to say about the lipos. I haven't used them yet but when I do I will share what I find. Some one posted specs that I have never seen with the SMC and so I wonder what he is getting his info. I don't care though as the lipos are top notch and will be pushing the TP4050 2220kv motors to the limit. I'm also looking at the Swordfish Pro 200 amp - 8s lipo ESC or the
Swordfish Pro+ 220 amp - 6s lipo ESC with data logging to get the most from the motors.twissted from speed. Lead, fallow or get out of the way. Copy cats in back of the buss!!!Comment

I went with them because the rc guys that race swear by them. SMC matches the cells and that is more than most. also the packs are fresh and not many can or are willing to do that as well.
This is the first time I will have used them. I will give some feed back and video to show performance and run times against the pack I currently run.
A majority of the sponsored drivers resell the goodies from the sponsors on the rctech forum. I buy some of it from time to time. I bought my Rev-tech bulletpacks from losi's driver among other things. If you listen to some of the so called "experts" on the RC Boats Facebook page, your an amateur if your not running dinogy 90-140c @ 8s - 10s.
If I were all froggy & I wanted the best battery I could buy @ 6s - 8s levels, it wouldn't be with lipoly packs. I would pick up some Milwaukee or Die Hard 19.2v - 24v Lithium Ion batteries.. LI-Ion is bar none far superior to li-poly.
If all the sponsored racers had to run boats, a majority of what they advertise now wouldn't make the cut.....Comment

I talked to the owner also. I think that from what I have found on these lipos that I'm going to be fine. A lot of high speed cars looking way past 110 mph are using these batteries.twissted from speed. Lead, fallow or get out of the way. Copy cats in back of the buss!!!Comment

Cars and Boats...Apples and Oranges.
That being said, I did have some SMC NiMh packs years ago...they worked well.Grand River Marine Modellers

I was just looking on SMCs site and it looks like the biggest pack they make is 4s? I've only got one boat that is using 4s packs soon to be two boats...Comment

In the round cell past, SMC was a respectable source for decent batteries. I don't doubt that their current product is OK EXCEPT they're basically catering (Like MaxAmp) primarily to the car market. Nothing wrong with targeting a market that has a huge purchasing demographic. BUT they've stretched the hype a bit far and posted some (fairly obvious to the high-current boat guys) copious amounts of bull-exhaust like "with genuine Deans connector for lowest possible resistance. " Give me a breakThat alone should indicate the world in which their testing results come from.
I'll go "old school" here and say that if you want to spend your dollars (and base your purchasing decision on unrelated car data) go ahead. For me, I'll continue to support guys like Dinogy Mark who gave up his lucrative day job and poured all his money and energy full-time into supplying product that many of us have demonstrated to be the best FE battery, hands down regardless of price and have, since introduced set more records than any other pack that I know of. I'm proud to get behind one of our own. In my mind (and who gets my respect) loyalty counts highly.2008 NAMBA P-Mono & P-Offshore Nat'l 2-Lap Record Holder; '15 P-Cat, P-Ltd Cat 2-Lap
