The Drifter has a hatch a bit similar your new one, but the deck is different. The M-1 has a smoother transition from side to deck, that may have been the big difference.

You can see several views of my twin M-1 Cat along with my twin Drifter-L on the finedesignrc.com website in the "boat gallery" section. Check it out. I think you'll find them interesting.
True-dat Jim! Thanks for sharin the visual! I am less worried that I have altered the deck now that I see what you guys are talking. I definitely prefer the supercat looks over the drifter. I'm psyched to get her back out and we what you guys think of her handling.
when you bring it to the race bring your own modified tape measure,Nobody will ever notice a few inch's missing from the middle they will just see the needed number and say, (nice boat). jeti mind trick...

hi everyone i am new here and looking to pick someones brain but i am not sure if i am in the right spot ...i am building a 34" FighterCat Cheetah i want to run twin brushless motors what is a good motor looking to spend at least 300 or lil more for each motor and i want to build a kick ass boat the first time do i look for motors with high rpm with low voltage or high voltage lower rpm ... because i see motors that will turn just say like max 60.000rpm but the motors have like 7800rpm max60.000rpm but lower voltage then i see motors just say 1200rpm max 60.000rpm but high voltage what is better ..is there anyone that can help me in anyway ..Thanks Jim
yes we can all help, but post your own thread and ask the question, this is Jesse's thread don't HiJack!!! If you want you can PM me and I'll answer any and all questions, please be specific like how many cells you want to run how much you have to spend (total) and so on.
Justski, glad you are here on OSE, as pointed out, go to Q + A forum and click on "New thread" and start one up with your questions...............or if its going to be a build in the near future go to the Building Forum.
update:
I whipped up a custom paint scheme, a little more involved that straight lines...
Paint is curing now - I'll post up a pic when the windscreen is done.
I'm thinking of trying a pair of 1515 1y with T180s for P offshore domination. the two proboat motors were OK, but still low to mid 40s.
P offshore speeds need to be in the 50s to be competitive.
Twins are tough for offshore, you can only use 5000mah per motor and a 1515/1Y with a 445-447 will need every bit of 8500mah to make 4 minutes, maybe sharing the load and smaller props will make it but, man all that time $$$ and work building it and then not being able to make the 4 minutes would be a bummer! Good luck though would love to see how it goes, I'm building a Twin P-Hydro this winter with 1415/1Y's just to see how it goes!!!
Good points, Mike. Recon ill be using my 42s for oval racing (we don't do the M course), unless consumption is not a problem on the shorter course. Otherwise.... Might think about saws??
just a teaser, I'm pretty happy with how the swoopy lines work with the curves of the boat.
If you look closely, you can see where I hid the scar from the horn removal; I thought a dark color would mask it best.
gonna go metal flake clear and then another coat of clear for durability.
Still unsure whether to use pin-striping along the color boundaries.
Got my graphics on the way - these are probably going on top of clear coats -
I never like the commitment of putting them under the clear coat.
I may end up running 3 5000mah 4S packs in parallel to get me 15000 mah.
And for me it ain't a total shame if I don't get to race this in a legitimate NAMBA race - it is .25" over anyway...
I wouldn't want Jay T to come along with his saw and cut off the back of my hull and some of the batteries too!
I might just be limited to friendly bouts w/in our club. After all, the P monos I would be racing are mid to upper fifties in speed.....
