    45" triple X

Gents I need some help, I got this thing fully rigged and with servo and rx plate installed. What my question is where should my motor mount go and how do I install stringers? I am clueless. I have the concept of stringers and know where cog should be but I am also going to run lets see here... 2X4S 2P. meaning I am running basicly 4-4S packs. here are some pics to get us started. I also need to know what motor mount to use as well as I think I will use a neu 1527 motor but not sure quite what wind yet. thanks in advance.

So you'll be running 8s 2p?? In the pics it looks like stringers may be, or at least have been in place.

I would look at a Neu 2215 for that hull, the 1527 is going to struggle to push that much weight and drag....

What esc are you going to use??
Nothing like keeping you lipos warm and your prop wet!!

4s2p won't move that hull....you need to run them in series for 8s1p.
Here is a good article that my friend Eddy did for stringers.

Guys I will be running 8S to the ESC. Im not that silly to run a 45" hull on 4S. I just need advise on the stringers and motor placement. As you can see someone put the velcro straps in there and I just wanna know if they need to be taken out or should my motor go further up front? Should I use wire drive?

Well, it has carbon fibre angle stock for hull reinforcment but they are not parallel. So it does still need stringers or could I just use a motor mount alone then? And does anyone make a motor mount for the neu motor that doesnt use stringers?

I see now. Does the hull botom flex? The issue I see now would be removing the carbon angle to install stringers. Installing stringers really isn't that difficult.
              IMO,
As far as motor placement, I would put all the componets in the hull and move them around to a point that you can get a CG fron 28 to 30% by moving the cells for and aft. Try to keep the motor on or behind the CG.
Depending on the motor you choose I would go with a 3/16 or 1/4" cable.

I agree with Doug, get the CG layed out... I would STRONGLY recommend a 1/4 f/shaft...

I would talk to Bill Socal here on the forum,, He has fried 2-- 1527's in a 44" Cat on 10S... The 1527 is too small for the 40+ gasser hulls and the 8S2P configuration,, It will be underpowered and cause heat/ failure issues!! JMO

I am running a 40" Insane Cat on 10S with a 2215/2y and everything is under 120deg. after a 5-6lap oval race... The total weight of my Cat is 14.6 LB,,

I raced against a Herzog 45" Mono at the last race, he had it powered with a Lenher 3080 on 10S....

I just dont want to see you burn up a $300 motor or a $$$ esc!!!

Man the cash involved with these gas conversions are what keeps me away. Even if you do a sport conversion it's still well over 1500 bucks done right. Mike I feel for ya man. Hey of all else fails a good zen is only 260 .

Well, I have almost everything allready. I use flight power packs for the H&M so I have the lipo's allready. The hull was a deal and half with all hardware and high torque servo, I just need motor, esc, and drive line. I figure another 8 bills and It should be running. Im not looking to win anything with it but it sure will be cool to see it run next to a jet ski!!
