    Jonas TFL Zonda 40 156kmph/GPS

Hull: Tfl carbon Zonda 40 102cm twin brushless.

    Hardware: Stock RTR

    Motors: TP 4092 2100kv 4 pole
Escs: Turnigy Marine 180amp escs with bec. One bec disconnected.
    Batteries: Turnigy Nanotech 7s 5000mah 65c x 2 (one for each motor/esc)
    Props: Tfl aluminium 1.4pitch 48mm 2 blade
Fibre cowl so gps signals go through.
    2.4 ghz ansmann radio.

    Props counterrotating outwards.

    Cg about 35% from rear.

    First test new batterier: 151.6kmh

Second test 1 cycle on batteries: 155.8kmh /gps

The boat is stable it will go over 165kmh. we had to stop the top speed run because one driveshaft snapped.

The escs and everything seems too be cold too touch.
Had too remove LVC on esc because its a 6s esc.
Think amp draw is about 210-220amps. About 5500watts on each motor. 11000watts total+

How do you run 7s on a 6s ESC?
NEED PARALLEL CONNECTORS?? QUALITY 5.5MM, 8MM, 8 AND 10 AWG, GET THEM HERE: http://forums.offshoreelectrics.com/...est!&highlight=

I would suspect amp draw is higher than that with 7s/2100kv/48mm props.

He is not the first to run 7s on those ESCs...as long as you're ok with the idea of running a "time bomb" you can do it...it's obviously well outside the range of the electronics though. It would be cool to see what he can do with better components...I've thought about building one of these for SAW use but haven't gotten around to it yet.

        7s

you just plugg it in =) you have too remove low voltage protection in the program mode on the esc. Set it at no protection (0v per cell) this is because 6s esc cant count 7s.

There was another member here (mike76) who ran 7s on those ESCs. I know when he recently sold the boat they weren't in it...I'm not sure if he took them out before failure or they failed in the boat.

fastblack, do you have any video of the boat? We would love to see it.

measured amp draw on a hpr 115cm cat twin 4082 leopard 2200kv 6s 65c nanotech x447 L/R it was 180amps max. one more cell lighter boat and little less kv guess its about 210amps+

i have a deltaforce 33 with leopard 4082 1550kv and turnigy 180a esc i have run about 40packs 7s through it no problem, amp draw only 150amps though.

                ~48,000RPM x447
                vs.
                ~55,000RPM x448

You think it only takes another 30A to spin a bigger prop that much faster?
I suppose it's possible...it just seems unlikely to me. I have seen an exponential increase in current draw when you get that high in RPM.
It would be interesting to see though.

i just divided 180amp / 6cells is about 30amps per cell, but of course as speed and load increase amps go up but voltage go up too on 7s so... on other mono setups 30amps per cell increase with same /kv/prop is normal. anyway the turnigy 180amp has a 360amp burst 10second, and you cant run this boat at full speed many seconds

Yes, that is the Mike that I was speaking of.

The area he runs in is the most beautiful place I've ever seen anyone run an FE boat. It looks like paradise!

cool. but this boat is smaller weights nothing and has bigger motors more C rating and 1mm bigger props, this boat is alot faster!!

So guys I mean keith and the gentle man who started thread what's your opinions on TP motors compared to leopard? I may need another set of motors soon as my 4082 2200 kv Leo's are damaged from a high speed crash/sink I was looking at the FC TP 4092 that are a-little heavier but have more power and are cheaper. You guys think it's worth the try?
