i built it. cant figure out how to post pics on the forum. interested in finding out if motor is too big for this boat. 18 lbs seem too heavy in my opinion. new to electric want opinions on batteries ( I'm using 2 6-s 5000 packs in series 40 c grimm 65x100 prop. fightercat 400 amp esc (barely fits in boat ) any little water gets in esc is toast . want to try swordfish 300 but wont be in stock for 3 weeks

I have one that I have run in my 41 cat and 43 inch Sport Hydro. I run it on 10S2P, prop it from 62mm to 67mm. speeds in the 67 to 80mph. If I was to build a rigger for it that would be a blast. I use a 40.160 Schultz ESC with no problems.

have you ever gotten the esc wet? why 10s instead of 12s? how many amps you pull with that controller ? hear any feedback on fightercat esc's I've run 94 mph with 65x100 grimm prop . whats the cost of that esc ? do they survive contact with water?

I race NAMBA and our insurance only covers UP TO 10S. My Schultz's are 6 to 7 years old. I have soaked them then could pull the trigger that would damage them and need to be sent to Germany for repair. I recover the ESC and soak in CorrosionX bake in the sun for several hours and back at it. I do not do the math most of the time I test eith heat base line on the shore. I would like to up grade to the Schultz's esc that have Data logger function but do not have the funds at this point for the ESC. I have seen a l

sew run. It seams that all china junk (CJ) is over rated. We have been running the Swordfishes and not able to pull a lot of amps.

thanks for the info, have more questions if you dont mind. you are saying if you dont hit throttle after getting wet they survive with corrosion x ? do you submerge with shrink wrap on the esc? do you soak esc before you ever run it? how heavy is he hydro you run? if you have to send to germany how long is the wait and cost? do you think 12 cell is too much for my boat and the schultze 40.160? thanks

Cut the shrink wrap off and spray 3 coats of Silicone Conformal Coating waiting about 1/2 hour between coats, let throughly dry and reshrink wrap.

I have done that with cheap Turnigy ESC's with good results. I have been sacred to do it to any of my Schultz's, did you Conformal coat a Schultz?

Yes - Schultz's, Swordfish's, ETTI and Fightercat.

what about between the fet's and the cooling blocks?

Most use Thermal goop not epoxy between the cooling blocks and FET's, so I remove the plates and scrape the goop off and save. Spray 3 times and let dry for a couple of days, then reapply goop and install plate and shrink wrap.
