    Miss Vegas Deuce Question.

    Hey all,

Well I'm back to working on converting my Miss Vegas to FE. When I bought the boat I read about mixing up epoxy and spreading it on the inside of the hull to seal and strengthen it. Well, I did this back when I bought it and now I'm trying to figure out how to remove the epoxy so I can lay down carbon fiber.

If I sand the epoxy down will the carbon fiber still stick to it? I'm open to any suggestions you guys have

    Thank in advance,

    John

Sand the epoxy really well, I mean REALLY well with 80 grit sandpaper. Then lay your carbon fiber in there with finishing resin.

Thanks for the help! Now just waiting on a new dremel tool to arrive so I can remove to wood blocks, then the sanding will begin.

Carbon fiber is a little tricky to work with, the ends tend to separated easily. Just did my MVD because it developed the stress cracks on the bottom of the hull.

To keep edges from fraying, use scotch tape. Tape where you want to cut,and make your cut down the center of tape. Keeps edges clean. Then when you lay carbon, LEAVE tape on and put it face down so it can't be seen.
