Road Runner Rigger .67 nitro conversion

Well guys this is my first build post. A Road Runner Rigger .67 nitro conversion.
I have had and raced this boat for a few years then a shelf queen for a few years. It now has a NEU 1527/ .5 Y. To start I will be using a T-180 ESC with 4 &5 S test for getting it tuned and setup before getting serious. Fluid ( Jay ) has been a big help in recommendations of prop choice etc. My expectations in the end is to break the 100 + MPH mark saw runs. Hope to get it wet soon. Any thoughts? Thanks
    Dave

Looks Good, is the CG where you need it with that set up?
That is going to make for very long ESC to Battery leads, can you move it to the offset motor bay?
Maybe a bubble hatch with esc over the motor?
Or a Cap. bank next to the motor?
You need to find a custom water jacket maker to make a longer water jacket. LOL
Let us know how it goes!

        Thanks Bill and happy 4th.

jcald 2000: Thanks. The cg is not quite where it should be yet about 55/45 sponson/prop. The long ( 8” extra ) battery leads are not ideal but they are # 8 wire so it should help some. This is just a test setup for now. Will be getting the new SF 300 ESC and putting it by the motor at some point and running 6 S with an ABC – 1916 range prop. Bill gave me a V947/3 to try as well.
I think I know someone that makes jackets..LOL. The motor mount is something Steven and I have been working on to accommodate the popular Leopard 4074, 4082 and 4092 motors.

You ordered one too huh? (mine should show up tomorrow) I was planning to use it to replace the CC200 but after relocating the rx and running the antenna outside the hull it seems to have taken care of the issues in my Falcon cat.
See ya Sunday if not before.

Bill, haven`t ordered one yet. Wanting to get the bugs worked out first. Good deal on the Falcon Cat, I had a feeling that was the problem.

I'm running a twin 90 sized rigger with a neu 2230 and 26s packs (50 volts) fightercat esc but interested in the swordfish 300 because of size heard anything about the esc?

I think your s count is off there unless there was supposed to be a space between the 2 and the 6. I have one of the new SF300's and put a few photos and thoughts in the OSE new products thread. Haven't put it to use yet though.

WOW.. that rigger must have some massive torque. Any pic. Or vid?
I have not seen the new SF 300 yet but Bill may bring the one he just received to the lake today for a first hand view.

Time sure flies by. I haven’t done a lot with it. The first test run was a flop. Using 5 S 40 C batteries it killed the packs back to back. The boat did seem to trim out ok. Recently I did a run with 7 S – 45 C batteries with a CC 200 HV for 1 quick pass and it was fast.
COG still needs some adjusting but the room is limited for battery placement. I think it will be a fast boat when dialed in correctly. Please let me know how it goes with your build.

Cool. I'm planning on a 1527 1Y on 8S. I'm going to do some surgery on the tub to try to get the CG a little more forward. I can actually fit two 2S Thunderpower 6600's between the boom tubes. Then a 4S 6600 and Castle Ice 240 side by side just behind the rear boom tube. Then the motor will end up behind the packs. It's a weird configurations but this will keep my wires short and the CG as far forward as possible. We'll see what happens. I'll post some pics when I get to work on it.

Thanks Scott. It may be a while before I can run again. Last night I wanted to check the throttle calibration and when I plugged the battery in the Castle 200 HV got hot in a hurry.
Now I can’t even get data logging. I am sure the amp draw was off the chart. I will be sending it in for repairs. Wish the 400 amp would fit.

Yes Sir these hulls are a challenge for conversion given the space to work with. On mine the boom tubes are not far enough apart to get the batteries down in.
