    Slow Cheetah cat build

Doing a twin Cheetah cat. will be awhile before its finished.
Will paint once all hardware, motor mounts etc are in.
Rather impressed with this hull. it has a few minor flaws in the finish and join is not dead flat, but all the edges are very clean and sharp.
It sits flat and has no twist and the sponsons dont pull in like some of the Apparition hulls.
Carbon/kevlar looks very nice and has been done exceptionally well.
So far just added stingers and rudder. Used some 4mm carbon fiber on rear of sponsons. Was going to put a plate of CF in transom were rudder goes but the inside has a curve to it so not sure what i will do yet.
    Couple pics.

Looks good Oz. But I got a question... Are the stingers lower than the sponson surface or is the one of those optical illusions?

this hull runs very well. RayR is running a single drive in Q class in our club and its awesome. Only run twice so far but came right off the bench about perfect.

Keep us posted on the build.. I know all about those "slow" ones

      Hi Tiqueman

Yes it does look below the sponson, but it is just above the lower edge by about 1mm.
Going to be awhile before it gets any electrics. I have one new t180 have to get another.
Still deciding on motors. Was thinking 2 tenshock 3656 1700kv on 4-5s ($260)
But also looking at the Aquacraft 3656 2030kv ($150) on 4s spinning counter 442s
      Or proboat 1500kv on 5s ($160)
Would like 50-55 mph with out pushing any thing to the limit

Nice. Just for reference. Im running a ProBoat MG on twin PB1500s and Id say its high 40s. Im not pushing it at all, running cut down 447s to 45 counter-rotating. 120A escs. Motors come in right at 100F. Escs about the same, so its not trying at all. Some tweaking and 50 wont be an issue. Being that the Cheetah is a bit larger, Id imagine a touch slower on the PB motors. Keep an eye on the swap, Ive picked up several pb 1500s new or almost new for no more than $45. shipped. You may be able to find both for under $100.00 to your door....

Id imagine it would run very well. I dont have 5S packs or Id try it. I run mine in a stock twin drive class we started in our local club.... however it seems Im the only one who has a boat now for that class, so it may be undergoing a rebuild.

Hey ozzie, I have a pair of leopard 3665/2300kv motor with jackets. They have one run on them, went 66mph with 442s in a delta force explorer cat. They would be great on 4s wtih 442s. I'd sell them for what I paid for them, and cover the shipping to AU if you want them.

Little bit more done. Decided to do nothing fancy and keep it basic (cheap)
Home made servo bracket and some water inlet/outlets
Mite do a carbon fiber esc plate down the tunnel just to stiffen it up a bit.

While i am waiting to win lotto so i can power it doing a few small bits .
Added some 4mm pieces of carbon fiber to the hatch for it to hold in place.
One stinger had under size lead Teflon bushings,so drill stingers out to take 1/4 brass tube and run speedmaster style bushings.

Yea that is a good budget setup. Have a few things coming up and little work so may take awhile before its finished. Gives me plenty of time to tinker.
Have a t180 was going to sell it and buy 2 120s but mite just buy another t180.
