    Thanks Steven.

Took a run today with the RX pack moved back about 4 inches, backed the screws off of the trim tabs a full turn, and gave a half turn positive on the stinger and hit 70.7

Well, since the SF240hv has worked out well in Vader, I cannibalized my big Hydro til I get another one for it.

        Here's my idea:

I made a CUSTOM MONSTER ESC

Yep, it's a Swordfish 240a HV 3-12s model , but i added six more caps to it and used the huge Fightercat cooling plate on the underside(fetboardside) snugged up against the flat metal plate covering the fets. So now it has a cooling plate in the middle and one below, lots of plumbing but it should stay nice and cool..............caps too with 12 of them on there!

This thing is huge now with the extra plate on it it's about 1 3/4 inches thick, check it out next to a T120a in the last pic..................

That is cool.I was thinking that that ESC is a little lacking in cooling.I have one on the shelf out of my 35" DF.I may look into this.

Was it getting warm with that motor?

Just warm to the touch..........probably 120-ish. The hottest days are coming up though, it was 107* here today and the surface temps on the small lakes really heat up so this will help a bunch.

Those ESCs are great but I think they can definitely benefit from the extra caps.

That's what I am thinking about to as summer starts here.
I got to tell you I've really noticed the warm up so far from my almost zero degree celsius. The ambient temp up 10 degrees in the lake warms up components alot quicker.

In your 1st 2 pics it looks like the battery wires are EXTREMLY close to the new cooling plate, it may be the camara angle, but I hope those solder points are WELL insulated!!!

Thanks jcald, I did notice and checked them, the new cooling plate does not move at all and is about 4mm away from the solders. Plus, the plate is aluminum, that doesnt conduct electricity i dont think?

Alu. does conduct, remember alu. house wire. 4mm should be enough but I put 3 wraps Electrical tape around both set of wires after I Conformal coat the boards just to make sure.

Looks great !!!! I run a 5692 1090 kv In a df-41 it loves the x-460 when ran in 8s 2p. It is probably the boat I have the most fun with it handles great, and runs so stable. What is your timing at with the sf-240
