    Drifter xl build

Hi all, I've just started building an 55" h&m drifter xl cat.

It's going to be motivated by a pair of plettenberg 370/50/A1S motors, a pair of schulze 40/160 esc's and four flightpower 25c 10s 4350mah packs wired in paralell to create a 10s 17,400mah power supply for the two motors.
    Cha-ching

I'm running 1/4" flex cable down to modified speedmaster struts.
Still looking for an appropriate rudder as the mount on this hull is quite high, and as such requires a very long rudder. I'm having a hard time finding one that is 6.5" or more long.

Today I got the transom doublers cut out of g10 and glassed in, as well as mounted the drives.
Tommorow I'm hoping to get the motor mounts cut out (of g10 as well) and glassed in. Hope to get the stuffing tubes installed tommorow as well.

I'm trying to get the hull out for paint as soon as possible, as the painters tend to procrastinate on small pieces like boat hulls. Going with the team Damas graphics and paint.

This hull is huge, my 30" cat fits inside this one !
I threw a sv27 motor in there for size comparison.

Those are propshop 5517/5 blade props.
I've got a set of 5518/3 blade props for when it's time to get serious.

    Cheers,

    Nathan

Nice, ,,,a wet dream come true
I use the same Schultze speed controller on one of my boats and love it. Its pretty indestructable. Just keep it dry. a bit of moisture and it can have issues.

I actually traded a heli for for the hull, hardware, motors, and esc's.
I believe the fellow I swapped with originally purchased them from Icarerc.com .
