    bby Ovalmaster 22

Ive owned this boat for god knows how long and ive decided to get her back together with the system i run in my bby zepher. So i put the ul-1 motor and sv-27 esc(the old blue one) and im going to run it on 3s. My pack is a 3s 2200 mah 20-32c so what prop should i run. I ran a prather 215, and a x637 with this set up in the zepher and it ran pretty good but the x637 brought the battery back a lil too warm for my tastes. Here's what she looks like :).

How long did you run that with that SMALL pack in there?? If it was for more than 60-seconds or so, that would explain why it got so warm.

Even on 3S, you are going to be pulling over 45A average with that setup, I would think... 2200mAh isn't going to last long. If you are having to put more than 1600 - 1650 mAh back into the pack after a run, you are damaging your pack (pulling it down below 70-75% of it's capacity), and that is why it would be getting hot.

The X637 shouldn't even make that system get warm with that boat and setup.

I'm working on my 21 as I write this.
I think you'll be cool with a 637 to start.

I REALLY like your setup. Is that the old loaner boat?? No that couldn't be the loaner unless you moved the motor.
Tommy run that thing asap. 2200 is a bit low but you'll get a few laps.

I Vaunt to know what comes of it.
I've got a few packs here for you. can you make it out to my house?
That battery is a bit small Darin is right.
Be cool though 'cause that sucker is abs

Gimme a call, I like that thing.
How come you never showed me this? We had a guy try your setup in a 24inch hydro at the last race..

It looks to me like that boat should have room for a pair of 2200mAh 3S packs. If space is an issue, you could saddle them and wire them in parallel. That'd double your runtime.

I'd think, ultimately, you might want to move the motor ALL the way back in the hull, as close to the transom as practical, and then you'd open up the entire center of the boat for batteries...

In the meantime, investigating a pair of packs might be a solid option...

the only reason it got warm was come to find out that my stuffing tube in the sport had a couple of dings in it and it was causing a lot of friction. its fixed now but i decided to run the mono for now because ive got some work to do to the sport, fix cracks.

well it ran good for like a sec then took off full throttle across the lake and ran into a docked paddle boat and its done. It sunk and i had to get it but luckily my lipos unplugged at impact and didn't get hurt. Took me a lil while but the dam bec in the esc quit working. So time for opto XD. Good thing ive got a old 100% kevlar Pistolero undrilled.
