    Mark's shocker. Saw build

OK, lets get started. I got the boat and all of the hardware and electronics from Benjamin at Fightercat 2 weeks ago. First thing I did was lay some carbon kevlar glass in the bottom and sides of the hull for added strength. The boat is very nice but a little on the thin side. Here is a pic of the first step.

And yet another surfaces.Right on.What is your motor choice? I'm playing with the idea of running 8s in mine at some point.

Next we mount the motor mounts. These are also from Fightercat and are the simple in the sponson type. These work just fine but don't offer any down angle on the motor unless you shim it. I chose not to and just made a little s bend in my stuffing tube.

Here's one with one of Benjamins 2000 kv outrunners. I am going to run these motors first just to see what I can get out of them and see what there capable of doing. The controllers are Fightercats new 2 to 8s 240 amp with bec. These controllers are very nice for the money and work great so far.

And here is the finished product but I swapped out the outrunners while I'm waiting for some 6mm collets. These are some lepard 4082 2200 kv motors in the boat for now so I can figure out CG of the boat. I have 4 runs on the boat with this setup and it runs great. The cg I like is at 35% but I might move it more forward when I go to 6s and a saw setup. I have been testing this setup on 4s and Fightercats new 3 blade props. The 5018 prop is very fast at almost 70mph. I'm waiting for some more different props to test as well but I am impressed with there design so far. The difference between the 448 prop to the 5018 is probably 20 mph. My goal with this boat for now is to run it at the next saw event in first weekend of March on 6s. I will get some video of my different set ups when I get time and I'm sure all of my runs will be videoed at the saw event. We'll this concludes my worlds fastest build and if anyone has any questions about anything I left out ask away.

Ok I got some runs in at the saw event here in LA. I started with the Fightercat 2000kv out runners. These motors work really good. I ran them on 6s and FC new 5018 props. Wow what a power house. These motors are 10 pole so the tourque is high. I got 4 or 5 runs on them that always resulted in blow overs. I bet I got it up to the 80s every time before it would blow off. I have my cg at 1" behind the second step so it's pretty far forward. Don't worry, Propper chopper got some of the carnage on video. I think the effects of the torque was up setting the hull with the high lift props I was running. I switched to some 447 props and the hull ran great but my speed was down due to the low pitch of these props. I now switched out the out runners for some 4082 2200kv leapord motors. I only had time to run this set up once but I layed down two 94 mph passes for a new Q offshore record. I go back tommarrow to run Neu motors and see if I can't get the record over 100 mph. Everything on my boat is Fightercat and I couldn't be happier with his products. The hull, hardeware, out runners and the 5018 props are the bomb in my book and I don't think you will be disappointed .
                    Stay tuned for more updates.

                          Ok,
I got two good passes in and the new record is ( for the moment) 102 mph.
