    DF22 Finished!

I finally finished and successfully tested my DF22. I'm currently running an x432 prop, dual 8.4 volt nimh batteries in series, a Feigao 540L 10 turn, and an X-Power 100a ESC. To prove it, here's a video on youtube of it:

The guy speaking with an English accent is my friend who's filming it.

Nice job. Get some pics of her to put up here.
My prop hasn't been wet in a while.

Here's some pics. A few things: I replaced the blueish tubing with the orange, the blue was too big. The output has ductape around it because I got the output for the large tubing, which I didn't use. For the sake of statistics, that boat is also a bit of a heavyweight for 22 inches: it weighs in at 4 pounds 14.6 ounces. However, with that motor and ESC, it accelerates like a Ferrari.

Here's a few more pics. Those batteries are held down with industrial strength velcro. My mom used it on our dog's jacket. I figured if it can stand up to a full grown GErman Shepherd it can stand up to batteries going 0-30 in a second. I was right.

Keep in mind, this is my first FE build. The fastest boat I had before this was a Traxxas Blast. I'm very happy with this build.

Looking good. Good job with the first build. Try running the boat in a clockwise circle, it will skip less. Also can you take a picture of the turn fin from directly behind it and post it?

It is cold. In the vid if you look far out you can still see a good few thousand square feet of ice floating around. That's what I call a glass of ice water! Although, it makes the water cooling work great. I can run 16.8 volts through the motor, and when the bats are dead the motor is in 2 digit temps.

I was reading another thread on the forum, is it a big help to mount the turning fin at an angle? I didn't, but now that I think about it I realize I probably should do that instead.

I was just checking out the props on OSE, and they have a 3-blade that's the same width as an x435. What do you think about 3-blades on a hydro?
