    Low cost heat exchanger.

I found this on RCU and thought I'd share it. Looks like a pill bottel was used here. I am sure there are many diffrent enclosures that can be used. I like the idea.

I dont wanna sound too stupid here and I know what a common exchanger does but can you put this to an application in our boats? Is SJFE thinking of trying an onboard cooling system????? COULD BEEEEEE!

Dry ice is a very poor idea, proven on the full-scale car racetrack. It would be too problematic - as it melted away from the coils the heat transfer would decrease dramatically; you have to vent the evolving CO2 gas; the dry CO2 would damage anything in the boat it touched, etc. Regular very cold ice would be best, with enough liquid water in the container to maximize the heat transfer from the coils.
