    My Vac-U-Pickle Build

Ok my first hydro i have been keeping an eye on these seemed to be a good boat for the money and its a quality built boat by vac-u-boats. i was surprised even though its abs its strong with proper support and ribbed top and bottom deck for strength. did some digging for info on this boat and talked to d. smock who is very familiar with this hull and asked a bunch of questions and got plenty of good info

    proboat 1500 kv motor
    proboat 45 amp esc
    randy naylor hardware
    hitec 225b servo
    4s1p nano & tunigy 40c 5000 batterys
    props- m445,545,645
turnfin- upgrade 2mm black ul-1 fin and kinetic HD ul-1 bracket

i am also going to take the radius out of the sponsons and get them as sharp as i can, also d.smock did suggest the fullers turnfin bracket a must have but i went with the HD kinetic mount i dont think there will be any problems it has a very large foot print with 3 holes for mounting and a fourth can be added easily

the battery is wrapped in wax paper to keep the epoxy off while the battery straps are being glued to the hull, the esc will sit between the motor and battery

Looks good I just finished building a pickle it is a fun boat to drive and very nice to build. I found the x442 to be the best prop for this boat it was recommended to me by others as well. you might want to give it a shot.
            Good luck with your build

got it wet today i think it ran great for a first run and my first hydro, could not measure speed but looked mid 40 tried a few props, m445 , m645 and x445, it did not like the m645 the x445 seem really nice but need to put the m445 back with the better batteries. turned great it was a little windy and blew over twice but was able to drive away, also water got a little rough and i think it handled it well more harsh than race water would be. temps were very cool 100 degrees motor 107 batteries

now what should i do to fine tune the boat,

i dont think i was in the mid 40's, maybe 40 tried some adjusting today and since i dont have a nack or know what a good running hydro looks like a friend of my that has experience in the past with hydros will be another set of eyes to help setup

picking up speed little by little i think hard to tell with out small gps , but this hull is very strong i stuffed at full bore 4 times and it would pop back up and i drive away conditions were alittle bumpy as the wind picked up, i ran 4 packs through it. still only likes the m445 prop i really did not see any difference with m545 just a little more heat

Now a gentleman from southern wisc. put alittle weight at cg on windy days and he said it ran great.= My ? is how much for a hull only built by Vac-U. boats. Reason, my right hand had arthuritis to build. Sure would appreciate a reply, if you don't mind. Thanks!
