    Delta Force 45 Rework

Not sure whether this goes in here or in the Questions department, but I was starting to get in on Millzee's thread so figured I'd start one

So over the holidays I got this DF 35" with a 1717,SW240HV RTR. Not my first mono but my first bigger one. This is how it was setup as I received it.The Rx tray is leaving.DF35 001.jpgSo I took it out to run it twice so far.First was with Tim V and was real gentle, second was this one here http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8J7ck...Pwt4PCVcaWWIDO
The CG was out to lunch,I know. This is how I had the batteriesDF35 007.jpg
And this is how the CG as advised setup would beDF35 009.jpg OR DF35 010.jpg
I think it may make a big difference with the packs or some of the packs in the center.

So any tips and/or advise is greatly appreciated as Cats have been my thing.

As you can see in pic 1 above, the Rx battery tray was 1/4 unsealed wood. This is what I have so far

All I have is CF so why not.

So here's my center battery tray and hull ready for install.

      batt tray 002.jpgbatt tray 003.jpg

I drilled and sanded all edges of the CF and sanded the hull so the resin has something to bite to.

Does anyone know how the boat will respond with more weight in the center as opposed to it all on the sides?

So here is the battery tray all epoxied in and some batteries in place. This should leave me the option of running my 5000mah packs now as well

Now I 'have to build some new connectors and fasten a few things down.Apparently everything best be good and secure in this thing.

          very nice

the ONLY thing I would change quickly is the rudder push rod.
get rid of the Z bend and make up one using a 4-40 push rod with a nice S bend in it.
the Z bend is just too flexible.

Oh yeah that's on deck,I have stuff on hand for that Carl.I may switch the servo around too. We'll see what works best.
Nothing like buying a boat and reworking everything eh.
Thanks for the input.Got any other prop suggestions.

And the rod is fixed.Moved the servo over and only have a small S bend in the rod
              rudder rod 001.jpgrudder rod 003.jpg
I also got the lines fastened and new parallel connectors made.Just waiting for Liquid Tape to dry, then I'll post pics.

Nice boat....................the steering rod looks much better now, plus thats the way to do it, on the other side of the servo the rod would be bent different directions when turning.
NEED PARALLEL CONNECTORS?? QUALITY 5.5MM, 8MM, 8 AND 10 AWG, GET THEM HERE: http://forums.offshoreelectrics.com/...est!&highlight=

As promised earlier, here are my connectors,I now have choices
                    connectors 003.jpg
I am running the CC 6.5 bullets on all my batteries so I have paralleled two 6.5's into the existing 8mm(silver soldered).
FYI On my first run with this boat one bank of batteries weren't connected(still a mystery) and some of the heat shrink heated up on one off the 6.5's,so they themselves or on a 1p setup with a 1717 won't cut it.Hope this helps someone.

Looks like your batts would have the female leads on the negative wire based on the parallel adapters..............?

Got out to run this boat today.Had fun and tried a few props. This vid is with 6s2p in the center section of the hull.I can run it but I prefer it with the 4 3s's,two in the center section and two outside the rails up beside the motor.http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=N5VjS...=youtube_gdata

You should be proud of that boat..........as you said, just needs a little fine tuning. What is your CG? Try to get it around 29-30% if you can. You can simply move batts up i would imagine.
