    My P-mono power "upgrade"

I'm keeping my Pursuit as my P-mono boat (which allows to run a 34" hull or less on 4s with any motor) and have decided to upgrade it just a bit. I ran one sanctioned event with it last year and was in first until my ESC decided to go into LVC WAY early.......that really sucked. But anyway, I was hittin high 40's with my 'already upgraded' Leopard 4074 2150kv but now i treated myself to a sweet new Leopard 4082! Its a custom wind only from OSE apparently and is 2200kv, has the wires exiting the rear(ala Neu) AND has all new vented endbells for cooler running!!!

Gonna still run the T180 ESC with it which will handle it fine, and i will probably end up in the x447 range propwise. I'm aiming to wring all the power out of this motor and am targeting around 140a draw which will give me a little over 2000 watts.....or 3 hp. Should get me in the upper 50's and make me competetive with the others in the P-mono class, although I havent seen what everyone runs yet and with an open motor allowance you never know.

Got the 4082 in and really beefed up the T180 for less heat buildup and increased current flow.

Two 1000uf 35v caps are added to the batt leads and 6.5mm bullets are now on the motor leads to the ESC and I have huge 8mm bullets between the parallel adapters and ESC batt wires. Gonna run 4s2p and have ordered a set of 4s 4000mah 45c lips from HK US warehouse for 8000mah and 360 continuous amp supply.

Well.........i couldnt wait for the 4s batts to come in so went ahead and ran it on 4s1p. Went very well in my opinion although im sure the batts werent liking the motor drawing 130+ amps.................

Temps real good, ambient air temp 63*, water probably 50*

Temps at end of the 1 minute vid...........

Seems a bit faster...........havent GPS'd it yet. The 4074 2200kv hit 47mph on an x442 at its highest reading.............when the 2p batts get in it should be 50ish.............. on order are two 4s 45c 4000's for 4s2p 8000mah!

I have changed my Rico to running 4s and it went well with the 4082 2200 mid 50's. Now it has a new heart which is the TP power 4050 2560kv from FC. The boat hasnt gotten wet yet but I hope it runs well.

Try going up in pitch on the prop and keep similar diameter. Just a thought.

              Cheers

OK.........the 4000mah 4s 45c batts came in.............time for the 4s2p run with the juice the 4082 needs! No temps issues.

                    the t180 has LVC issues.
if you know you aren't going to run out of juice (which you shouldn't with 8000mah) then disable the LVC just in case.

Yep, i'm aware of that so i disabled it before then run......although with 360 constant amps provided by the batts it may not have tripped pre-maturely set at 3.0v.

Looks really good! Why you are using 4000 packs instead of 5000's? ...just curious....
