    JAE Mini Sprint build

YeeeHawwww..Another build..Ive seen a bunch of videos of these little boogers running and like them, so I just have to have one.Besides, I need something else to run while my Cyber Storm is cooling off between runs...Ive never owned a rigger, much less built one..But I have built airplanes in kit form before the ARF era.. Everything for under 200, thats what Im talking about!! Got my Batts, esc, and motor ordered up..Should start the build by next week..If theres anyone who has built one, please feel free to share your setup..
As with my last build, Ill have lots of pics every step of the way..

Didnt get any pics before I got this far..But here is where I am at on the build..Got the tub started in the jig..I let it set up overnight..Tonight I got the boom tubes squared and let set up in the jig..I went ahead and put the foam sponsons loosely on the booms and then lightly weighted to cure..These kits built in a jig go together very precise..I didnt even have to align the boom tubes..They went together right on the money..However..Built in the jig, the first couple steps the tub came out with a slight twist on it..Through each step just keep everything as square as possible and by the time I got the boom tubes set up, Ive got the tub dead square..Even though you use a jig, you have to constantly check for square..
    This is a fun build!

I should sell my partially built one, first boat I've ever lost interest in finishing.
If my boats upside down then who owns the one I thought I was driving the last two laps?

I thought I would build the sponsons while getting through the rest of the tub build...
This is not in the manual..
When you get the end pieces on, slide the boom tubes through both sponsons..This way you can sand both of the sponson flat edges perfectly at the same time..

LOL I'm almost finished a 21 and converting my 12 to electric, finishing a 1/10 hydro, have an H&M drifter ready for paint and just finished a design for a new kneeler hydro.
Eventually I'll pull it off the shelf and install some hardware.
Too many other boat projects, most will be race boats, now if some of the other guys around here would build them that would really light the fire!
Nothing really invested in it as it sits, used leftover scrap from my 1/10 Wahoo build for the mini JAE. I prefer to build from plans, building could be my favorite part of the hobby (if it weren't for paint).

No kidding about the paint. Im still trying to figure out what kind of paint to use..

Anyone got any ideas on a GOOD primer and paint to use?

I just used a TopFlite LusterCoat spray bomb on mine, over the West's epoxy. But I didn't paint the top deck where it will be taped, I had trouble with tape pulling the paint on my Jae.12.
And I found out painting my .12 that it adds more weight than you think, keep it light.
