Oh yeah, and it's not 5/8, it's 19/32.... Which is close enough I guess lol

i was able to get out and make a couple of runs thanks to the nice weather. the boat was a little bouncy and leveled out at higher speed. i know i have a long way to go here because, full throttle feels a little unstable. the boat is very fast. ive tried an x440/3 and m440. i do not like the m440 at all and the 440/3 does a nice job. ill try to get some video soon. i am a little lost on this one… i have used the trim tabs so far to adjust it, which i know is more of a band aid, im just not sure what i need to do here. i tried adjusting the strut angle a couple of times and neutral seems to work best…. anyways ill do some more testing and post some pics later. i do have odd placement of things in the hull compared to what ive done before on other boats… well see. more testingComment

so i got out again today with it. i tried once again to run with the packs all the way back (pic.1), and it ran like crap, so i tried lifting the turn fins out of the water just to see what happened. it was much worse, so i put them straight down, and that actually helped. finally i decided to bring it back in and move batteries up next to the motor (pic.2) and tried that. whoa! what a difference! unfortunately by then my packs were done so i only got about 30 seconds, but it was much better. so more testing i guess…. ill leave the batteries up front more and try more adjustments n the rear to dial it inIMG_1879.jpgIMG_1891.jpgIMG_1883.jpgIMG_1899.jpg

i ran some more this morning. took a nose dive and went under, came up with a nice chip in the new paint on the nose… crap lol
its was a bit choppy and it handled it decently, getting better with the setup but i did run into a problem and lost a prop.
when i got to taking stuff apart, i noticed the back of the strut looked like the drive dog had chewed into it a bit, and i left a decent gap. the speedmaster bushing was stuck in the strut. im pretty sure the drivedog chewed the strut and bushing together so they stuck. a few taps with a hammer and it came loose.
then i got the teflon out and it was all kinds of warped, and finally the cable which broke in the middle.
i had left a large gap of almost 2" in the wet well of just teflon between the brass tube and strut.
My guess? the gap was too large, causing the cable to warp and pull the drivedog into the strut and seize the bearing until the cable snapped.
so i put a much longer brass tube in the strut so it spans 90% of the gap. this should be better. kinda bummed i lost an x440/3 prop tho (Comment
