      foaming in hull

sprayed the inside of the hull with wd40 so the foam doesn't expand to the hull all of the way and it won't stick to the hull

      IMG-20111120-00092.jpgIMG-20111120-00091.jpg

Beefed up hull with a resin mix from US Composites it is very light weight

Well I guess I messed up the motor mounts need to be on an angle and I put them in straight. I could not get the tube lined up with out using a tight S bend and there was Too much friction. Had to cut them out with a dremel tool

          IMG-20111218-00131.jpg

this is the repair and better setup using a slight bend

Are you running 5s per motor? Why run square end flexes? You can take the stub shafts out and use regular flexes, which I think would be stronger.

yep running 5s per motor. i ran the square shafts so i don't loose props. i figured i would try it and see how it was. do u think it is too much friction?

I can see the square end of the flex rounding off or the stub shafts doing the same. Ive never ran square drive anything, but in my opinion, in a high power set up, I can see it holding up. Doesnt mean it wont work for you though. I dont blame you for not wanting to lose props, but it happens once in a while. I havent lost one in a while, but I do pay closer attention to collet tightness and give the flexs a thorough inspection when I service them. I say crank her up on 6s and let it eat! Nice build. Been thinking about taking my Genesis out of the swap shop for a nice twin build using a couple hot Arc motors for mid to high 80 blasts. Good luck to you and post a video when your done.

i was a little worried about running squares but ben said it would work well. i will try anything like that once.
that hull should fly. a little scared of ending up in pieces but it is reinforced and i guess thats all i can do thanks for the coments larry

I own 2 Maritimo's one twin and one (single ,still being built).

My choice on props would be a

Pair of octura x442 , left ,right ,detounged , sharpen and balanced.

Second choice would be octura x646 detounged, sharpened and balanced.

Also you will need left and right flex cable for the job.

You mention square end flex, With the power you have i would go for the round end flex

I use the round end flex 3/16 for my twin and i have had no problems. Very strong...

I like what you did with the foam , How about a bulk head to finish it off.

The centre of gavitiy for this hull - A very good place to start is 37cm from the transom forward.

Also make sure you leave yourself lots of room for the lipo's to be moved forward or back to fine tune
                          your COG.

Here is a link to a very nice twin Maritimo built by Wolf , Check it out mate lots of good info there.
