2 screws per sled hold it from sliding back and forth, not in the pics, and 6 ears on each sled hold it in and keep it from bouncing. In the earlier sled pics you can a more detailed view of whats goin on. Thanks

I am curious about these sleds and how well they will work.I have been doing the velcro and vecro strap thing this whole time.

                    Looking good Charles.
Lots of thought and design into those trays.
Personally Im a fan of simple velcro.. quick changeover between runs ( and Im lazy ! )

Thanks Kent, if I keep up with these 12hr days at work, then in next couple weeks it will have her maiden with video. Really want to finish hatch before the first run. It's a little toooooo lightweight, would hate to give the controls a nice bath because of something so easy to strengthen.

Thank you W, I'm a fan of Velcro as well, the weight of these batteries worried me a bit. So went over kill with securing them. The battery change on these shouldn't take to long, 8 screws per sled and swap batteries.

I had a few bad incidents while only using Velcro. With speeds above 60 that lipo is like a brick. I had them rip loose and split my hull. So now I use a rail mount system. To be safe I doubled heat shrink the lipo's to the sledges.

In the beginning of the build that was my intentions for the sleds, but when ordering the carbon I said what the heck! Turned into quite the task.

                              Great build!
One question, if a lipo goes bad and want to replace it, do you need to demolish the trays?

Thanks Remmie. The top of the lipo trays are held on with 6 screws, hard to see in the pics. Remove the screws and the tops come off so I can charge or replace batteries with charged lipos for multiple runs. Takes a minute or so.
